Super Dollfie (スーパードルフィー, Sūpā Dorufī?), often abbreviated SD, is a brand of ball-jointed doll made by the Japanese company Volks.

The term "Dollfie" is a portmanteau formed from the words "doll" and "figure". The original Dollfie dolls are Barbie-sized vinyl figures; the term "Super Dollfie" was introduced to distinguish the larger resin dolls. Super Dollfie, or even just Dollfie, are sometimes erroneously used as a generic terms to refer to BJDs made by other companies. However, both Super Dollfie and Dollfie are registered trademarks and should only be used for Volks products.

Super Dollfie is Volks' first range of 1/3 dolls, released in 1999 [1]. They are meant to represent children of around 10 years of age and so are sometimes referred to as SD10. Volks refers to them as "standard" to differentiate from SD13. SD are the same size as the Tenshi type KyoTenshi.[2]

How to order?

SD standard models can be purchased from Volks website. Volks also releases limited SD dolls at their various events, such as Dolpas. SDs can also be ordered through their Full Choice System.

Sculpts

Standard models

Limited models

These sculpts have only been released as limited model.

Discontinued models

These sculpts have been discontinued as standard models. Some of them are still available through Volks Full Choice System.

Measurements

They are roughly 55-56cm (22inches) tall. Girls come with 'standard' (L-01) legs while boys come with 'long' (L-02) legs, which are roughly 1.5cm longer. They have approximately a 22-25cm (8.7-9.8inches) sized head. Most of them can also wear Dollfie Dream sized wigs, but the older models who have larger heads will find them a tight fit.

Compatible items

  • Outfit: looks for SD / SD10 sizes
  • Wig: for newer models 8-9in or DD-size, older bigger headed dolls might need 9-10in
  • Eyes: range from 16-22mm, depending on headmold
