Reason for choice:

Wanted a sweet/cute face to go with the style I had in mind for the character as well as to be sort of the opposite to her sister (Kerry, Supia Nael) whom I wanted to have a more stern/serious face.

She loves colors in general, but if she absolutely had to pick only 3 favorites they would be baby pink, light green and yellow

Colorful typically coupled with at least a little bit of black. No certain style, she's more of a trendsetter than a follower of fashion I would say

Her and her older sister's mother was a professional singer, which led to them both giving singing a good try already when they were just kids. Fortunate for April, she had clearly inherited her mother's talent, though as time went on she felt less fortunate about it as she suspected it to be the reason for her relationship with her sister turning sour. Her sister Kerry was by no means terrible at singing, but was nowhere near as gifted as her or their mom. April thinks it was jealousy that eventually led to her sister running away from home, not having realized that as soon as her own talent had been noticed, their parents had more and more shifted their focus onto her, ending up neglecting Kerry.
Their mom had died from a sudden illness only a few months before her sister running away, making April feel extremely alone when she lost her sister as well. Despite not having been close for years at that point she really missed her, though was also angry with her for abandoning her. Until then her only dream had been to become the most famous singer the world had ever seen, but due to the happenings in her personal life she no longer felt quite as into it, however continued working towards it for years more as singing was still the most viable way for her to earn a living.
Now, at 20 she feels completely bored of her career and with her long-term boyfriend makes the decision to settle down, get married and have kids while pondering what to do next career-wise, but not before going on one last singing tour around the country. Halfway that tour, she randomly bumps into her sister at the hotel they're staying at.
