Asema Torrez was born in Spain in the early 1500s. His last name came from tradition—his father served in the army and was stationed at watchtowers in Andalucía, specifically in Málaga Province near Torre del Mar, along the Alboran Sea.

Asema didn’t want to follow in his father’s footsteps. Instead, he joined a crew of pirates and quickly found his place aboard their ship. He enjoyed the work, especially the quiet moments in the crow’s nest, smoking his pipe and watching the sunset. He also thrived during storms, when the crew had to work together to survive.

Eventually, he discovered that his captain, Capitán Sombra Roja, was a werewolf. The captain had lived far longer than any human, and Asema wanted that same longevity—to keep sailing and see how the world changed. He asked to join the brotherhood, but was only accepted after saving the captain’s life during a violent storm that destroyed their ship and killed most of the crew. After the transformation, Asema gained pointed ears, but only changed physically during full moons with clear skies.

While the captain was having a new ship built, Asema returned home. He found his family’s house abandoned and boarded up. After searching, he learned that his father had been committed to a mental hospital after killing Asema’s mother and younger sister. Despite everything, Asema visited his father every day.

Not long after, Asema noticed someone following him at night. One evening, he confronted a man with long red hair and dark skin. They fought, and the man fled. Later that night, Asema woke to find him watching from the foot of his bed. The man introduced himself as Hsekiu, a vampire, and said he intended to make Asema his thrall.

Asema spent years under Hsekiu’s control. Eventually, the vampire turned him—not out of affection, but to see what would happen if a werewolf became a vampire. The transformation gave Asema permanent fangs alongside his pointed ears.

Today, Asema lives in Los Angeles, where unusual appearances don’t draw much attention. He avoids contact with Hsekiu, who still stalks him. To irritate his sire, Asema dyed his long brown hair fire-engine red knowing Hsekiu preferred it natural.

Asema now works as a mediator between vampires and werewolves. His biker gang, The Lunar Reapers, is wild on the surface but secretly works for the vampire prince of Los Angeles. He keeps his personal life private, maintaining a small, trusted group of succor (humans who allow him to feed). He stores blood in secure locations and has built an underground base in the Nevada desert, constantly expanding it with supplies and space for emergencies.

Asema is stuck in the 90's. Jeans, boots and a leather jacket with the patch of his biker gang clear on the back. He usually braids his long red hair to keep it sleek, so rides on his motorcycle doesn't damage his hair. He has pride in his hair.

Name story:

It just came to me when I needed an OC for the vampire prince's confidant. Then I looked it up and Asema its origin was from Surinamese folklore, with roots in West African spiritual beliefs that are vampiric in nature, which was shocking to me since I pulled it from the air.
