1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

  • Face-up artist(s):
    Luts
    Date of acquisition:
    August, 2019
    Provenance:
    Ordered from Luts through Fabric, Friends and Dolls
    Reason for choice:
    She has the perfect look of a long ago boudoir doll, the kind ladies would drape across their bed in the 1920s.
    Best Points:
    I adore her overall expression, which has a look of relaxed but elegant beauty, somewhat detached from the world, which is so perfect for this character. I particularly love her partially closed eyes, very white skin, and slightly open mouth with tiny teeth.
  • Eyes:
    Luts 16mm deep rose glass
    Wig:
    Luts white oriental style 9-10 and an unknown extra long wig in white 9-10
    Favourite colours:
    Pale colors
    Fashion style(s):
    Boudoir style (what I would call “frothy”, with plenty of femininity, length and layers of fine tulle.)
    Key fashion accessory:
    Anything that takes the outfit “over the top”.
    I wanted a very precise look for this girl, an updated 1920s boudoir style reminiscent of the old bed dolls of that era, that ladies would dress in fashionable finery and drape across their beds during the day as a decoration. I wanted her dressed in a frothy, feminine style with plenty of lace, flowers, and layers of tulle...a style that is very over-the-top and impractical by modern standards, but absolutely gorgeous!
  • Name story:
    Chinoiserie is a design style that was popular in the 1800s. It was based on Asian culture and art forms, but from a Western European perspective, which was often somewhat skewed. I chose this name because she is the guardian of a Chinoiserie jewelry box and it’s treasures. Her second name, Rose, is a lovely and quaint homage to my grandmother’s ancestry.
    Character age:
    In her 20s
    Character gender:
    Female...as feminine as it gets!
    Offsite roleplay:
    This doll's character is not available for offsite roleplay.
    Chinoiserie Rose is the guardian of the old jewelry boxes, ladies’ trinkets and personal romantic keepsakes in a Victorian attic. She represents the style of 1920s Boudoir Dolls from my grandmother’s era, and is an homage to my beloved grandmother. Her character is entirely focused on beauty, with no thought whatsoever to practicality. She simply exists to guard the sentimental ladies’ treasures of a bygone era...especially my grandmother’s asian inspired jewelry box…and of course to look gorgeous while doing it!
