Dalialla was born in to an industry she became a part of - her father was a rather well known movie producer that ended up heading a big studio in his later years and her mother a less well know actress, who was perhaps to sensitive to make it big on a blue screen.
Everyone expected Dalialla to be a big success since she was a young teen - with her looks, obvious intelligence and her parents connections she had everything she needed to climb to the top... And she did not disappoint - the public admired her beauty, elegance and apparent talent, while the industry professionals most of all complemented her implacable work ethics, adaptability and coolness under pressure.
But as it often is in life success in work was darkened by personal issues. In her late teens Dalialla was diagnosed with several minor health conditions, non of them particularly dangerous on their own, as long as she stuck to healthy lifestyle, but all together they added up to one sad truth - she was not going to have children.
While technically not infertile, her actual chance to connive where so low it was not really worth mentioning. She tried to make piece with the issue for a very long time, comforting herself with the idea of adoption... And yet it still felt to her like she failed in some deep, personal sense by not being able to become a mother in that simple and basic way that most woman could.
She was 23 when she met the man who was going to change her life... Some would say for the better and many more - for the worse.
Sheridan was only a couple of years older yet probably twice as famous as she was by that point and had a reputation that would make ones head spin and only some of it for his music. It was a ruining joke in the media that if you managed to run in the same circles and not sleep with Sheridan withing a year of meeting him there had to be something majorly wrong with you.
Dalialla fully intended to keep as far away from the walking scandal as she could and yet the moment they met in person that intention went out of the window - there was just something about him that kept her looking... After some short consideration she decided that a brief affair was not going to do her any harm - she was single, unattached and in fact a bit of spotlight of a "spicier" kind would do her reputation only good in a long run - everyone needed a youthful indiscretion on their resume if they want to remain relatable... She of course did not expect it to be anything but a brief, if passionate affair.
And in the beginning it was exactly that - Dalialla joined Sheridan and his band at the winter health retreat that his manager insisted her charges attend when possible, and that was the end of it as far as she was concerned... It was the nature of the trip that changed everything: let's just say that having her and her "vacation boyfriend" with a clean bill of health they where both sure about made both of them less careful than would usually be wise...
After the holidays Dalialla went back to her work and Sheridan to his parties and scandals and for a couple of month the two did not even cross path... Until Dal had to visit her doctor - skipping one period was not unheard of for her, but now the second one was way to late... And yes, you guessed, to her complete shock she ended up pregnant.
It was a once-in-a-hundred-lifetimes miracle and of curse she knew that she was keeping the baby no matter what it took. Her assumption was that Sheridan was not going to be interested in fatherhood, but informing him was a decent thing to do, in fact she wanted to make sure that he knew that no demands would be placed on either his time or money and it was entirely up to him if he wanted to meet the future child at all - Dal would not deny her baby a chance to know their father, but ultimately it was up to him.
It was even bigger shock, at least to the general public, when instead of running for the hills, Sheridan instead proposed. With a heartfelt speech about wanting a family and a confession that he "could not get Dalialla out of his thoughts".
The couple got married three weeks later and in half a year had a beautiful, healthy girl they named Diana. The whole thing seamed to be working out... Until Sheridans fist tour in his new family status.
Dalialla was about to go back to filming, now that her baby was a year old, and thought that going back to more active involvement in both their chosen professions was going to be good for both spouses when the tabloids gleefully informed her that he husband was back to his old pastimes... Parties and orgies that is. With photographic evidence. And full on recorded ones. And so many witness testimonies it was really not possible to mistake it for anything it was not.
The divorce soon followed and it was supposed to be the end of the story as far as Dal was concerned... Except it was not. A little over a year after the papers where signed Sheridan decided he wanted back in to her life and he was both insistent and creative bout it. The whole courting ritual included everything from near suicidal stunts, like climbing the mounting which overlooked the city and pinning giant banner with love confessions on, personally, of course, to siege tactics, like serenades under her windows (with the full band present, naturally) and long interviews about his broken heart and wanting Dal back... In fact he was so good at being tragically broken heated that even Dal started to feel like she was the bad guy... Hence a much followed by media second affair ending up in another marriage.
The second marriage even survived a world tour... In fact Sheridan fans where so invested in the whole story he hardly got a chance to stray - everyone and their grandmother where trying to help the "bad boy" "mend his ways"... Until unfortunate surprised visit from Dal, who had to change a flight and had a sudden layover of 8 hours in the same city her husband was...
Her surprise visit to his hotel room ended up with her finding Sheridan and his manager... Doing some "managing"... And a second divorce.
Ironically this time she already knew it was not going to be the end of it - Diana was old enough to start wandering where "dada" and despite everything Dal could not deny that Sheridan loved his daughter immeasurably. Whatever trouble the parents where having where not worth breaking their daughters heart over.
So while officially divorced they continued to orbit each other, Dal refused to move Diana around, and instead offered Sheridan his own room at her mansion where he could stay to visit with his daughter and he made a good use of it.
It turned out that they where better co-parants than spouses - without the pressure to keep to monogamous lifestyle everything else fell in to place and it was not long before Sheridan practically lived with his family anyway. Dal tried to get her life, odd as it was underway, even dated... Thou that did not last long - she had to much work to pay attention to both her family and a new boyfriend. She was fine single, she had her daughter and said daughters father was a good friend. Than a good friend "with benefits"... And after a while she had to ask herself - what do you call living with the guy you had a child with, going out with him, sleeping with him and spending holidays together? Yep she ended up in an "open marriage" without the paperwork.
This time it was Dal who proposed. Her main condition was that this time around the marriage stayed open. If there was one thing she learned after the last divorce it was that the lies where what hurt more than infidelity itself. She could handle Sheridan being the way he was, as long as he was honest. And this time it lasted.
And yep, it is the beginning of Daliallas story, not the end of it. The "next chapter" starts when Diana turns 15, right on her birthday and it is possibly more dramatic than the "prequel" Dal is supposed to be 39, but a very "Hollywood 39" at the start of it.
