Reason for choice:

When Rena first came out I thought the sculpt would make a super cute tsundere lolita/gyaru character and so when fairyland came out with tan moe line minifees, I thought she'd be a really fun character to develop.

Best Points:

I love her proportions, they're perfect for the character I want! I chose the #8 hands and I love how they can express her but I would like to eventually collect more if not all of the hand options. She posed really nice out of the box and I don't think her string tension needs any adjusting so kudos to Fairyland, thank you.

Worst Points:

It's hard to find shoes that fit the moe feet and I have to be more careful about shopping for tops that will fit her big bust lol

For her final look, Caramel One BJD has the best socks and tops for pastel coords! I made her vest to give her a little extra and her candy purse is from a Volks outfit set. The classic Adidas shoes are from Sophie's Toy Paradise and the colors are perf! I'm always happy to share where I get outfit pieces so please pm with any questions!

Storytime?
This girl is the only doll I've intensely planned for. Pretty much all of the dolls I have I owe to impulse and oppurtunity. Except this Rena.​

When Rena first came out in 2011, I wasn't too sure I was going to get a minifee but I really liked her face for a tsundere gyaru character. I think I was watching a lot of anime at the time and getting really into shojo manga. I shared my feelings for Rena with a veteran of the hobby and she had some problems with the sculpt and I started to worry about choosing the right minifee... For this and money reasons, I put a pin in the idea... for actual years.

Fairyland came out with the moe bod and I decided that the big chest and height suited my character perfect. I started thinking about doing her up a bit on the ganguro side and when there was a tan event in 2017, I made my layaway order with Denver Doll Emporium. And then for various other reasons, put a pin in it... for actual years.

This year (2019) I made some impulse doll purchases to get back into the groove of things but always thought about how I wanted my Rena. I jumped at the oppurtunity to snag one of Rakeru Sensei's September slots. I got progress photos in October. In November I eagerly awaited her arrival.

So somehow, even though I was home all day, I missed the delivery. And it was a Saturday. So I had to wait until Monday to go to the PO and pick her up. I ran away from work and took the bus to the PO. Forgot my passport. Bus home to retrieve identification. Bus back to PO. I was doing an actual ants in my pants dance until the lady returned from the back room with my box. Yes. I was across the street from my bus stop waiting for the light when there it went. I had to wait 20 minutes in the pouring rain. I told her through the box, I am so mad at you rn but it's going to be ok.

And now I'm doomed. She's so cute and I just want to spoil the flippin flip out of her.

Name story:

Dolce is italian for sweet but is also high fashion (D&G) and also dulce de leche is basically caramel but also in Rune Factory 4, Dolce is the name of one of my favorite bachelorettes and her sprite calls her Dolly but also cinnamon dolce is one of my favorite lattes at Starbucks.

Dolce is super cute and sweet and lovely... on the outside. She loves being adored from afar but hates being bothered. She is a sharp tongue and will only take her coffee as cold as her heart, as black as her soul, and sweet as sin. Dolce and George share a lot of things (clothes, wigs, eyes) so they're getting to be good friends. Dolce is uncharacteristically kind when it comes to Georgette, maybe because she can intuitively sense the purity of George's unicorn heart. Pretty sure.
