Erasure was born in the north of the empire, near Svantei Gansen. The youngest of four, in 1046, less than two months after his birth, he was sold to slave traders. He was considered an 'accident' and the family could not afford to keep another child. Currently, he has no idea who his parents were and feels no need to search for them.

Those who bought him, kept him healthy until he reached the age of 5 when he officially began his training as a Tueor slave. At the start of his training, he was given a number as a name, 1076 (ù dzu nagùhu he ku), which was derived from his birthday (1046 + 10 +20 = 1076), and began working to master his first weapon. Along with armed combat, he also studied various forms of hand to hand arts, becoming highly proficient in many by the time he became skilled in weaponry. The first weapon technique he learned was dual wielding daggers and this has remained his primary fighting style when armed. Once he mastered the daggers, he was given a new name, Erasure 14 or Erasure hu he a (1+0+7+6).

Along with his combat training, he was given instruction in etiquette, mathematics, history, cooking, child-rearing, and various other skills in order to be useful to his future master. He was taught that his own needs were secondary to whatever would be ordered of him and to obey his master without question.

At fifteen, in 1061, he was brought to the Gandenye, along with several other Tueor slaves around his age, and presented to the Emperor Regent (vlabaejan), Andriy Shiroko , and the ten year old High Prince (tajanji), Taras Shiroko. From among the slaves, he was chosen by the prince and was given orders to act as his bodyguard.

The first night after their meeting, he was ordered to sleep in the same bed as the tajanji and Taras attempted to have intercourse with him. Erasure rebuffed him and, over the next several weeks, quickly discovered the rampant emotional, physical, and sexual abuse suffered by the tajanji. He felt pity for him and became his most stable source of comfort. These feelings turned to friendship and then affection as the years went on and in 1066, at 21, the two became lovers. He was the first to find out about the High Prince's auditory hallucinations and growing paranoid delusions, but was unable to do much to assist.

Erasure also developed a close relationship with Former Empress Inna who treated him as a second grandson. From her, he learned more about the inherited mental instability of the family. Upon her death, she left him a journal of advice and treatments, which remains one of his most prized possessions.

After Taras murdered his predecessor and was coronated, he proposed to Erasure, who was initially shocked as no one had married into the royal family for close to 500 years. Backlash to the proposal from the court led to him murdering several nobles and presenting their corpses to his master. To him, they were merely trying to take his lover away and that could not be allowed to stand. Each death was subsequently attributed to Taras himself, especially after he declared them traitors.

Whenever Taras is unable to actively engage in ruling, Erasure takes over and people have tended to see him as the level headed one, a good leader despite his status.

Due to his status as technically outside of the family despite his marriage, he never learned to use the royal family's magic. While he could press for the knowledge, he sees that as a sure path to further conflict within the family. Despite his official title having changed to Royal Consort (tsedaeba), he has chosen to continue in the role of a slave to his husband alone. Taras wants him to use his official rank as Royal Consort more often. However, their relationship is stable as husband and husband, but also master and slave, which makes for odd dynamics.
