Erling is a true warrior descendant. His father was a northern high lord with a kingly air around him and a lot of power over the wide northern lands of Erretwen. But as he was just about 2 years old his father died in battle and the Gudbrand family lost their status and power. As the northeners lost the war they lost a lot of land to, which passed on to the crown of the imperial "golden kingdom".
Despite history he still thinks of him as a northern prince.

He has a difficult relationship to his mother and his half brother whom he calls "the bastard of his mother".

Erling has grey-ish eyes - cold and distant as the thick northern fog.
He likes jewellery a lot and takes care of his overall looks especially his hair and beard like any northener of Erretwen.

He has a wife named Laeyla. She is a little older than him. Erling is scared his family name will fade with him so he wants to have some sons but this proofed to be difficult and took some years. But she finally got pregnant and gave birth to a beautiful but very fragile tiny daughter.
He named the little princess "Seren".

He is one of the best warriors the north ever had and is skilled and trained in every weapon but he never went to war or fought a real battle..
He thinks he was made to rule and is willing to do everything to get his birthright back not matter the costs or consequences.

One thing he likes besides training for war is playing music. This is one of the few things he shares with his half brother and mother.

Erling has a natural authority but not as much as his highly treasured father whom he worships of as some kind of a holy king.
He is stubborn and likes to talk down on people around him. He thinks he is special and high born and the other people have to do as he commands.

He is full of confidence and full of himself. A very self centered man full of wrath.

Bryn calls him "the donkey prince" and thinks of him as arrogant, childish and stupid because of his love for vengeance and his blinded hate against the kingdom. In Bryns opinion he is always aggressive or angry for no reason at all and he can´t be reasonable to safe his life. He thinks he is unworthy to rule anything because he is lacking humor, empathy, knowledge of any nature and the worth of all he is lacking brain cells...

Of cause Erling is part of the "brotherhood of the wolves".
His nickname is "the angry wolf" but if you ask Bryn he is "the dull one".
Both men don´t like each other very much...
