1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    Date of acquisition:
    May, 2017
    Provenance:
I am the original owner of this doll.
    Reason for choice:
Tania has a sweet, playful expression that I felt suited Felicity really well. The nJID body, while a problematic poser, has a small bust and therefore works as a child.
    Best Points:
She has lovely features and looks both dainty and childlike.
    Worst Points:
Iplehouse was off their nut when designing how she's strung; it's virtually impossible to adjust her strings, so she's very loose and floppy. I will have to mod her at some point to string her in a "typical" way.
I got my first American Girl Doll from my grandmother when I was six. It was Felicity Merriman! Over the years I would regularly get them from my grandma, and I loved the historical element. I devoured the accompanying books (each character had six books) and my mom would make clothes for them. Some of my earliest sewing was meant for my AGDs and they were basically the starting point for my love of dolls and crafting.

When I moved out for college, my mom sold my AGDs and their various accessories (which I wasn't aware of at the time), but I kept Addy with me. Felicity I left there, and was sure she was sold. Imagine my surprise when I opened a box ten years later and found her! I was delighted, but also inspired. Could I make a Felicity for my newer hobby too?

I've really enjoyed the challenge of period-accurate clothing, much of which I sewed by hand in the historical way, and researching prints, accessories, and remembering all the years I spent with my dolls as a child! I missed her; it's nice to have her back, in multiple ways.

Felicity is a 9 year old girl growing up in colonial America in 1774, just before the start of the revolutionary war. She is brave and passionate, from a merchant family who own a general store. Her family are in favor of colonial independence, but Felicity's best friend Elizabeth's family are loyalists. Throughout the books, Felicity struggles with maintaining a friendship when their families are so opposed, and of navigating the political climate of the age. She's also an avid lover of horses, even sneaking out of her home at night to tame a horse being abused by her owner.
