Iskra is a demon called a darkling. They live in dark caves where sight is nearly useless, so he is blind. He can very slightly tell changes in lighting however, and his long, sensitive ears hear the slightest sounds as well as work to gather his bearings.
He was abandoned as a toddler and found by a rich couple who happened to be avid hikers. They love him very much. His mother is a dress designer and maker and was very pleased to discover he prefers the freedom of skirts. He now attends school with his two best friends, Shauden and Sodalite.
