Reason for choice:

She was within my first doll budget and I thought she was incredibly beautiful when I saw her. I kept going back to her listing and looking at all of her sale pictures, and I knew that if I missed her and someone else got her, I'd really regret it!

Best Points:

Her original owner (I am the third owner) blushed her transparent arms blue, and I think they look stunning. They're her best feature! Her face is beautiful too -- I think I love her little nose and her white eyelashes the most.

Worst Points:

She's so kicky! She's incredibly difficult to pose because the slightest touch will make her legs fold if you aren't super careful. Until she's restrung (which may be never), sitting poses are best for this girl.

Jun Lai is a shelled character from a cyberpunk sci-fi novel project that I am currently working on. She was the first BJD I ever owned, and I received her in November 2021.

Jun Lai is the founder and the lead botanist of Life Seed Laboratories, which invented a branch of genetic science that successfully allowed the splicing of human genes with plant genes. This gave humans the ability to be "temporarily immortal", as their imbued plant DNA allows them to live longer lives by obtaining certain regenerative cell structures.

Although Jun Lai has been dead for nearly 200 years at the time in which the novel takes place, she is known in the modern world as "The Prophetess", and her likeness is everywhere in the futuristic Hesheng City. Because of her invention of "temporary immortal life", she gained a cult following after her death. Her followers, an organization that calls themselves the Hand of Truth, are biological purists that believe that Jun Lai was the Eye of God, who led to provide the faithful anti-cyborg idealists with eternal life.
