Jushiro is an origin vampire, one of the first vampires to exist. He began life as a human, born to the leader of the ancient Arata tribe. He was one of many sons, and had a twin brother named Takeshi. He became a warrior for his tribe. His tribe's lands were invaded by foreigners when he was a teenager, and he and his twin brother were captured. A strange ritual was performed, which turned Jushiro into a vampire and he was forced to turn his brother into a vampire. While his brother accepted what they had become, Jushiro could not and considered himself a monster. The brothers went their separate ways, and Jushiro traveled alone for many years until he came upon a village which had been enslaved by vampires.

Jushiro helped to free the village, and chose to live among the villagers for a while. A girl in the village fell in love with him, and when she grew older the two of them were married. Misaki, now his wife, later convinced Jushiro to turn her into a vampire and later on they had 5 sons and a daughter together, before Misaki was diagnosed with a terminal illness and passed away. Jushiro would find comfort in an old friend and ally, Charlize Ukine, the krusnik origin, and they later had a daughter together, named Amaterasu.
