Reason for choice:

Her sculpting is astounding, and very reminiscent of my absolutely favorite doll, Dollzone Anson.

Best Points:

Her sculpt. In fact her blank sculpt was so mesmerizing, I didn't give her a faceup for two years!

Worst Points:

She doesn’t pose all that well because of the heavy weight of some of the pieces, but she’s so beautiful who cares?

I had always admired this very limited doll. As a mermaid, she’s absolutely mesmerizing, and her size (105cm) is amazing and unique. But what really sold me on her was her similarity sculpt-wise to my absolutely favorite doll in my collection, the Dollzone Anson. Once I realized this, I was convinced that they must be from the same sculptor and when Dollzone surprisingly rereleased her, I jumped at the chance to get her on a long layaway. The biggest problem I had with her was that her blank sculpt was so beautiful, and I enjoyed looking at her in her blank state so much, it took me two years to finally do her faceup.

Handmade urethanes that have yellowed over time to an eerie golden-yellow color…they’re perfect for her!

I created a special “floaty fantasy” look with sheer fabrics

I didn’t want to cover too much of her lovely body, but I did want her to have a mermaid-inspired wardrobe. So I made her outfits from recycled sheer sari fabrics with plenty of glitz and detail.

Name story:

I named her Leilani because it’s a flower name (from Hawaii) that is as beautiful as she is.
