Reason for choice:

I have always admired Switch male sculpts. When I saw this one for sale, I instantly saw Li in him. After a lot of research, I found the AS 17 Boy Body to be the best option for a hybrid.

Best Points:

The body has great mobility, and is able to make a wide range of dynamic poses. It's not overly muscular either. The hands are designed so you can easily remove them to dress him. They're also beautifully sculpted. The Switch Doha head fits perfectly on the neck too (I would argue better than the AS head I got with the body).

Worst Points:

The stringing seems overly complicated, and the way he is strung makes his legs dangle. I'm sure this could be fixed with some sueding, however I'm yet to be brave enough to take him apart (the way he's strung is just so weird).

Name story:

When Li was a test subject, he didn't have a name. Instead, he had a letter and a number (L1). One of the doctors in his sector (who was always kind) started calling him "Li". When Li escaped, he decided to adopt this name

Meet Li! On paper, his full name is actually Eugene Goostman, BUT he only ever goes by Li. Call him Eugene, and he will probably either A: run as fast as he can away from you OR B: attack you. Whether or not you want to take that risk is up to you.

Li doesn’t have any memories of his life prior to 1 year ago. The only true memory he has is that of a younger brother, but he can’t for the life of him remember their name. But the memory is all consuming, and he KNOWS they’re out there somewhere.

For the past year, Li has “lived” trapped inside a neurology and genetics research facility. Here he has been under constant surveillance by a specialist team, and is often hooked up to a number of machines to monitor his brain activity. The workers refer to him as “Subject L1”, and a kind doctor starts calling him “Li”, which sticks, obviously.

During monitoring, Li is quizzed on the past he can’t remember. The specialists always try to convince Li that he is Eugene, but Li always blatantly refuses to accept this. What’s worse, is that the specialists seem to have a preconceived notion of who Li is, and his life history, but none of this includes any semblance of a younger brother.

Over time Li becomes increasingly confused, until one day the kind doctor secretly hands him a letter. It’s from someone saying that they are Li’s brother. In the letter, the writer explains their situation - that they too are trapped in the research facility, but that their tests are much more invasive. Horrible, horrible things are described in this note. They end the letter with a plea for Li’s help. There’s no name at the end, only the letter “E”.

Now, in Li’s mind, this affirms ALL of his doubts. Finally his one truth has been confirmed too. The next chance Li gets, he makes a run for it. He’s never left his cell, nor showed any signs of aggression in past, which worked in his favour. It wasn’t hard for him to ambush the specialist that came in for his evening check up. All he had to do was wait behind the door, whack them over the head before grabbing their coat and rushing out the door. Li didn’t really have a plan, and he had no idea what to expect. But what he wasn’t prepared for was the maze of corridors, and amount of stationed guards. And then the alarms went off.

With no other option, Li ran straight for the window, smashing through and falling to the ground below. Lucky for him, outside at least, there weren’t any threats. Li bolted for the trees, and he never looked back.

Since then, he’s been living on the streets, trying to find out as much information about the facility he escaped from. He quickly learns that it is a part of a giant global cooperation called Donetix. Donetix is a household name in AI development, and more recently cybernetics. Li’s goal is to expose Donetix for what they really are, and more importantly, go back to save E.
