Reason for choice:

I wanted a specific fairy themed BJD that still appealed to me as a female and not as a woodland creature, per se. I browsed a few websites and when I came across this particular model I was hooked.

Best Points:

I love her facial features and how elegantly the artist did her blush-up. I perceive a subtle smile instead of a bland or a frown-like face that I seem to see on so many other dolls. Beautifully tailored, exacting clothing for such a small person.

Name story:

Liena is a warm-weather fairy. While traveling from somewhere in the northern USA to the Costa Rica she had a run-in with an eagle that thought she would make a good meal, perhaps. She barely escaped by flying into a hollow of a tree. She was exhausted, so decided to sleep in the hollow for the night. Shivering throughout the night brought a fitful sleep. Then the very next day an unusual cool front came through the region and there was a snow squall that blown in with this front. Liena was terrified of the cold and snow and thought that she would perish in the suddenly frozen surroundings. Normally a strong female she, however, started to weep and cry not being able to hold back her dismay. I was outside inspecting my house eves due to the unexpected weather when I thought I heard some strange undulating noise. Thinking it was just a squirrel or other animal I dismissed it at first. But after I heard what sounded like a tiny, oddly sounding wail, I then went in search of said noise. I knew about the hollow in my tree, but never saw any animal using it. So I was really astonished by what I saw, or thought I saw. A large hornet, or dragonfly came to mind first. She was curled up, but when she turned her tiny, human face toward me I blurted out, "Are you all right?". Whatever had caused my soul to say just that other than gasping, or just staring, or some other human-like nonsense I doubt I will ever know. I heard this tiny voice say she was freezing and did not want to die. I reached into the hollow and gently picked her up and put her inside my warm jacket. We went inside my house where she had her first, ever cup (LEGO size) of hot chocolate. She has been with me ever since.
