Marbas was born human during the Crusades. When his demon powers manifested, he ended his own life, only to be brought back to life a few centuries later by Murmur. Unfortunately the resurrection was flawed, and Marbas is hardly more than a corpse full of despair. He has power over sickness and health; whatever he bestows upon someone else, the opposite happens to his own body. He is a kind soul, so he only uses his powers to heal, thereby giving himself all kinds of maladies. Overall, other demons regard him with both disgust and pity.

Murmur is the demon who brought Marbas back to life.
Zaleos is a long-time friend.
Paimon is another "undead" and they feel a sort of kinship.
