I'm the first owner--I bought her brand new via DDE.

Reason for choice:

I thought this sculpt was beautiful the moment I laid my eyes on it. She was my first Fairyland doll and at the time, they were very popular. I didn't intend to shell her into a specific character, but with time, I realized the sculpt was perfect for one of my favorite first original characters, Meira.

Best Points:

-Beautiful sculpting in both the face and body. The hands and limbs look great without anything covering them, which makes for wonderful photos.
-Lightweight and easy to transport.
-Fairyland engineering makes for very easy head, feet, and hands removal whenever needed.
-Many optional hand parts available.

Worst Points:

-While posable, the doll does not hold poses well. Little disturbances like a shaking table or light bump will case her to fall over.
-There are areas of her resin that are very thin, and can be seen under a flashlight.
-She has significantly yellowed over time, but this may be my fault.
-As a slim 42cm doll, stringing her can be difficult as there are many narrow passages in her body.

Meira is a Fairyland Minifee Celine I purchased sometime in 2015 from Denver Doll Emporium. She's in Normal Skin resin, on the A-line body, with the small bust. Her original hooked ankle parts were replaced with the magnetic ankle parts. She has quite a bit of yellowing, which I'm not sure if it is due to her resin, or if it was because of my own improper care.

Meira is based off of a character that is an elf princess in a fantasy setting, therefore, her clothing reflects that of a traveler in an RPG style game. It's a mixture of armor parts and stylized clothing, with features I associate with elves.

Name story:

Meira's name evolved over time. Originally it was my own name as a self-insert character. When she grew into her own character, I instead named her Mariya. After a while, I decided I wanted a name more associated with elves, and chose Meira. Meira's name means "shining" which reflects her personal journey and discovering herself.

Adventurous but inexperienced, Meira is the only princess of an elvendom that resides deep within a mystical forest. Tired of her father’s protective antics, Meira ventures off on her own to see the world and hone her skill as an archer. Though wise in knowledge of the elves, she’s relatively naïve to the world, making her easily mystified by the new things she encounters. She’s gentle and curious, eager for new knowledge and new experiences. Though young by elven standards, there is a slight mature air to her due to her age.
