Dollshe and the sculptor may not advertise his products on this forum. Sales may not be discussed, no news threads may be posted regarding new releases. This ban does not impact any dolls by Dollshe ordered by November 8, 2023. Any dolls ordered after November 8, 2023, regardless of the date the sculpt was released, are banned from this forum as are any dolls released under his new or future companies including but not limited to Club Coco BJD.     Miyao is a very special doll to me. he’s Dream of Child Ivan from the now-defunct company Dream of Doll, with an original faceup from the company itself.
    when I received my first, greatly anticipated BJDs, I had a hard time bonding with them. I had severe PTSD from the ongoing trauma of my childhood and was in the throes of dissociation. Ivan (who never got his own name) stayed in his box for the better part of 10 years.
    in 2020, an artist and collector I admire offered to buy my other DoD, Petsha, so I had her and Ivan shipped to me. I was reading Ciconia at the time and enjoying it immensely. as soon as I took Ivan out of his box, it struck me: he was Miyao. even with the wrong wig and eyes, the resemblance was uncanny to me. he just felt like Miyao, as though he’d always been one and the same. I got started on re-shelling him immediately.
    this week, I received a commission in the mail from Beyond Wonderland BJD, a doll tailoring company located in Poland. they expertly brought to life Miyao’s outfit based on images from the visual novel and a back sketch that I provided. I could not be happier with the work they’ve done, and I’m amazed at the result. my little Miyao Meow is finally complete!
