Nadir means "deeply loved" in Arabic. Born to an influential, loving Christian Arab family, Nadir has grown up relatively sheltered, though aware of his people's position in Israel. Holds a nursing diploma and speaks four languages, but has a concentration span of 0 to potato. He fills his spare time with outdoor activities, reading, music, and teasing his little sister. Known as a prankster and deeply loved for his warm, humorous soul, while also short-fused and blessed with poor coping skills. Has a hand-reared cat named Yucky. His secret inner geek knows more about video games, sci-fi, and superheroes than he lets on. Scared of deep waters and large dogs. Gets the munchies a lot.

And then, Israel built a wall.

Nadir's perfect world shatters when his people are outlawed and cooped up in impoverished ghettos that used to be their hometowns. With a child on the way, Nadir's pragmatic wife suggests sex work to make ends meet, but he's having none of it. He decrees it's his job to provide for his family, and he soon finds out why exactly he had been so desperate to shield Orli from that world.

As the crucifix around his neck loses its luster, and he finds himself sleeping with everyone but his own wife, money becomes the least of Nadir's worries: his best friend wants to put him out of his misery, his little sister is falling for a bad man, and his cat keeps puking on his stuff.

With colonialism having robbed Nadir of reasons to live, reasons to die are abundant.
