Olossen originally was the first crowned Prince of the Kingdom of Iridescent, but due to a raiding by pirates, he was kidnapped and thought to be dead by the royal family. The captain who originally did the raid, Juicyca, decided to take pity and raise Olossen as her own son, renaming him Owen. Despite regretting the decision at first, Owen turned out to be far more profitable alive than sold for various "parts" on the black market.

Having Fae abilities, gave him an unbelievably high advantage in hand to hand combat and swordmanship. He moved silently as the air, making him a crushingly good pick pocket, and his speed made him nearly impossible to catch or kill for that matter. He became well known as one of the best pirate swordmans alive, completing many successful profitable raids and even winning a large amount of sword fighting competitions.

It was no secret to Owen that his skills were not truly because of a natural born talent, but rather his ingrained Fae abilities that were kept secret to everyone but the captain and himself. He knew who he was and was rather comfortable with his life, regardless.

Things were going rather smoothly in his life until he ran into another Fae, called Oiamura. Up until this point, he had never run into one of his own people before. Not only this, since she was kidnapped and taken as part of a prize in a raid, this raised several ethical questions on whether he should allow her to be sold against her wishes.

Despite this and after some very supportive opinions from his captain, he finally allowed her to be bought and sold by a merchant ship owner. However, the memory of her still lingered in his mind, even after she was gone. It was then he decided to leave his crew and try to take her back. This then led to a series of events that would lead to death of Captain Juicyca and make Owen a captain in his own right, but not in a way he ever truly could predict.
