Solace is a quiet and very powerful demon who cannot show any emotion other than sorrow, though he gradually learns other emotions after being around Yuu and Toris.

As a Sorrow Clown he is the strongest sub-class in his demon class that can chose who he makes a contract with* These demons have many magic abilities designed for fighting and protecting both themselves and their masters. They can conjure weapons that come from their souls, as such every Sorrow Clown’s weapon is different. Solace’s is in the form of an oversized scythe. They are also able to control demonic fire and as such can burn and destroy angels. They are agile and fast moving demons with strength that rivals that of a vampire’s.

* Though Solace is originally forced to form a contract with a 'freak show' ringmaster because he was weak and needed power, only to have his power halved. He is subsequently chained up with all the other strange beings the ringmaster has collected. Until, Yuu and Toris save him. In order to break his current contract he forms a binding eternal contract with Yuu effectively overriding his original contract.

• He takes an interest in a young boy by the name of Earl Audrey Grey, who he feels a strange connection to. Why he desires to protect someone other than his master confuses him.
