Originally obsessed with Nix dePano's Rose doll. Found out he was a DOD doll and looked up the website. Saw Ducan Homme and immediately fell in love

He tends to fall forward at the hips whenever I try standing him. But that's probably just a stringing issue.

Name story:

Randomly using filters from a photo app the day he arrived, figuring his name would come to me eventually and came across one filter where it put his face on the Egyptian Sphinx's body and I knew in that moment that he was meant to be named Sphinx.

Sphinx was born to an Elven father and a human mother. Their forbidden affair resulted in the birth of a son- she never told his father she was with child and never saw him again. His mother was given an ultimatum to either keep the child and lose her status among her people and be disowned or kill the child and keep her status. Instead of keeping him, she abandoned him beneath a sphinx statue hidden deep in the woods.
He was ultimately found by a woman of the faerie folk and brought back to her village because she had a young son a little older than him and couldn't leave him to the elements. Despite their difference in size, she and her husband raised him as one of their own, calling him Sphinx in honour of where she had found him.
He grew up and she eventually had to tell him the truth about where he was found and how. He decided that he wanted to go out and find his mother's people since he figured he would fit in with them more than with the faerie folk he had grown up with. It was difficult for him to leave his home and his little family, but he gathered up his courage and headed out anyway.
He quickly fell in love with the human world and its noise, although still remains true to his roots (the ones he grew up with).
Sphinx is a tree hugger and he loves nature. He often prefers to be outside, bare foot in the grass than cooped up inside a house anywhere, but he adores techno music and raves and thus has dyed his hair bright colours (once I get the proper wig anyway lol) much to the displeasure of his partner, Cocidian Atla, whom he met while at Sir Nickolai's School for the Uniquely Gifted. They have been inseparable ever since.
