1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Trym High-Hill, Bard Extraordinaire

Maker:
Fairyland
Head Sculpt:
Alan
Skintone:
Natural
Body:
POPO 30cm girl body Normal
Sex:
Female
  • Face-up artist(s):
    Etsy's RedIrisAtlier (@angstypenguin on Insta)
    Date of acquisition:
    January 14, 2023
    Provenance:
Head: Denver Doll Emporium; Body: Alice's Collections
    Reason for choice:
Trym was the first doll I bought in a quest to reenter my very first hobby - doll collecting. As a kid, they were porcelain dolls my grandparents (and various family friends, once the hobby was established) bought me. As an adult, I wanted dolls I could pose and create clothing for, so I started looking into ball-jointed dolls. I went with the Minifee Alan Renewal A-Line for a few reasons. 1) Alan was the best sculpt I could find for my D&D character, who I wanted to create. 2) I wasn't ready to commit to the price of a larger doll as my first foray into BJDs. 3) The Renewal A-Line was the best body Fairyland offered compared to how my character is built. (Although I ended up hybridding her to get a proper Halfling build.)
So far, slim 1/4 are my favorite size out of all the sizes I've handled, so I'm very happy with my decision!
    Best Points:
Can you guess from my doll profiles how much I love this sculpt?
    Worst Points:
Definitely one of the pricier brands out there, although I think they're absolutely worth it.
Character doll of the Halfling Bard I play in a weekly D&D campaign.
  • Eyes:
    Ashuradark
    Wig:
    Short, red, and curly
    Favourite colours:
    Yellow and Blue
    Fashion style(s):
Bright or eye-catching colors - clothing that works well for a performance. She is a fan of doublets and sweeping coats, cuffed boots, and numerous rings.
    Key fashion accessory:
A yellow and blue floral crown made for her by her mentor.
Her signature look was a blue and yellow diamond-patterned coat, until it was destroyed in a fight. Now she wears a red and gold doublet, tan breeches, and an undyed cotton shirt.
Attached to the belt around her waist, she wears her money pouch, a short sword, and a dagger. A second dagger and a small knife are kept in her boots, and a quarterstaff remains slung over her shoulder when not in use.
Lute in photos made by Eve Studio. Floral crown made by me.
(Outfit still under construction, as I'm having to both modify a lot of patterns or create them from scratch and sew by hand in my limited free time.)
  • Name story:
Trym's first and last name were picked out of a list. She has a middle name, but refuses to use it, because it is the same as her mother's given name. Instead, she has taken on the title Bard Extraordinaire, to remind her family that she is who she has made herself instead of who they wanted her to be.
    Character age:
    37
    Character gender:
    female
    Offsite roleplay:
This doll's character is not available for offsite roleplay.
Trym High-Hill trained under the Master Bard Arthur Carrigan for ten years, starting days after her 14th birthday, and plays the lute, viol, flute, and drum; she is also known for stabbing first and asking questions later, a rather atypical trait for a bard. Barely taller than the average human toddler, she is very sensitive about her height and will do whatever she deems necessary to be taken seriously.
Trym is incredibly androgynous in appearance, and takes delight in being mistaken for male while playing, an error made possible by her smoky tenor.
She can often be found being trailed by a goose named Honk, which is a perfectly normal goose no matter how many times people swear they've killed it before...
Remaining family she willingly acknowledges are a brother, Dawid High-Hill (an Artificer); his wife and children; and her only child, Arthur Dawid High-Hill (a Druid and a hybrid of Halfling, Elf, and cursed cryptid tree creature).
