Personality:

Val is very quiet and stoic. Her emotions rarely show on her face, and she is continually observant and calculating. Her family's raising made her cynical, and she tends to assume bad or the worst in others for the sake of protecting herself. She has a strong sense of justice, and often now that she's away from her family will act on it immediately when she senses things are unfair or wrong. She is often shocked by kindness from others, and struggles to accept affection.

Biography:

Valentine was descended from a long line of vampires, who had for years kept their nature discreet and a strict hold on the economic structure of the governments they lived under. They were very powerful, and from a young age Valentine was exposed to dark practices as she was taught to be cunning and secretive.

Her family rejected extremely to her exploring her gender, and when she started to transition she was all but disowned from the rest of the family. When the plague hit and humanity began to wither, she and her family knew they would be immune due to their vampirism, but she watched as panic ensued, her family trying to figure out how to uphold their empire as everyone around them was dying. Eventually, she took this as her sign to get out, and slipped away during the night to make it on her own.

At first she had no idea where to go, until after traveling far she met two aliens named Etoile and Eloise. Etoile was like no one else she had never met - unendingly kind and gentle, expecting nothing in return. Thus, she began to settle in with the other's family and make a new life among people who actually cared.
