besides “everything,” he has one of the best bodies i have played with in terms of responsiveness and holding poses and i have hung out with lots of dolls over the years.

I had started playing the mobile visual novel game "The Arcana" around the time he arrived, and the name Julian stuck. I wanted him to have a Hispanic surname. Velasko is a corruption of Velasco, which means “crow.”

Julian is a monster.

No, literally, that’s his demographic description.

The guy who now calls himself Julian Velasko became aware of his predicament unfortunately only after many years of needlessly tormenting what the documents called “Protagonists.” There are millions of others like him, but not many get out alive. The language of the report was complex, but it suggested that many of these creatures had endured multiple “deaths.” Suddenly, a few things made sense.

The idea of being cannon fodder never appealed to him in the first place; the addition of this revelation was nearly too much.

After breaking free of the hellish fugue that caused him to predictably stalk the same area of the forest just outside a small foggy town for years on end, Julian had had enough of the town’s inhabitants, which consisted largely of lunatic cultists, a curiously high concentration of serial killers, crazed engineers, corrupt detectives, the undead, the odd demonic presence and a ghost or two.

He traded his pointy mask and shroud for a laptop and a Starbucks cup, and when he is not home at Lighthouse, he’s asleep the college library with a lecture droning in his headphones.

College is an excellent place for a monster. No one ever notices how moldy you are because they themselves haven’t slept in six days and they think they may be able to taste outer space if they squint at the moon and lick.
