Reason for choice:

I'd been looking for a Volks doll to fall in love with, and she was the one! Sunlight/tan is a gorgeous skintone.

Best Points:

Her eyes! I'm delighted that Volks has made a squinty, droopy-eyed girl with so much foxy potential.
Volks resin has wonderful texture and weight. The SD13girl body is beautifully sculpted and so comfortable to hold and carry around. She really is "plop her down however and she stands like she was born to do it" levels of stable.

Worst Points:

Single-jointed knees... it's a big reason why she stands so reliably, but I wish Volks had made them double-jointed along with the elbows. Torso joint is limited in posing range, but I've been told it was artificially constrained and you can mod the internal structure to free up its posing. So I'll try that someday.

Her bird aspect is a firebird, and her season is summer's end.

A strange little lady who was looking for her comrade-in-arms. He has now been retrieved from the war in heaven, but that's not enough for her relax. For now, she creeps around the house and peers at everyone... and sometimes, jumps out to kick their ankles and then run away.


Justinian says,
"Uh, I barely know Zhara. She doesn't talk to me. She's a white one, a warrior. ...An angel of joy? Yeah, that's what Vallant called her. I don't know, she seems pretty unjoyful to me."

Yeah yeah, our numbers change now and then, that's just part of fighting on the battlefront, ya know? I just don't know a time without Zhara. Tcha, of course we fight well, what kind of a question is that? I take the hits and she dishes them out -- that's all! It's not just the two of us, of course, all of us synergize. Ha ha, you better believe we're good at it!
"...Alright, look, I have no idea why it's just the two of us here. We should be with the others. Then Zhara will feel better. ...Yeah. She'll be better when we're on the battlefront again. We ought to get back there soon. Nope, no idea how we're gonna get back, or when. Dunno about her, but I like having a rest, for once. We're not going to have much of that after we leave this place."


Syr says,
"She's been visiting the library, but only when Finch is here. Actually, no: I've seen her without him, creeping between the stacks. I can't believe how soft-footed she is. She scared me a few times! But I think she's harmless -- well, I know, the warriors are never truly harmless. I mean, I think she won't bring harm to the work we're doing. Hehe, no, she's not a reader. Finch tried to recite the poems to her, but she wouldn't listen and just walked off. She should be running around outside -- but when Finch goes out with the other boys she won't join them. I don't know - I don't understand Zhara. Well, as long as she doesn't bother me, she can keep lurking around the books."
