1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

A sculptor database?

Jun 6, 2013

    1. I know I've seen somewhere a guide to which Volks artist sculpted which dolls, but wondered if there's some kind of database that exists for all dolls?

And if not, is there interest in one?

Amongst some Korean companies there are sculptors who have done work for different companies, or have many lines available, for example Gu Mi Jeong sculpts for her own MyDolling company as well as doing some Dollmore ranges as well.

    2. I would be interested in a sculptor database/wiki. I haven't been able to keep good track of the changing, disappearing and new companies and how sculptors jumped between companies.

    3. I would be interested too, as sadly, while I know the companies my dolls came from, I only know of maybe one or two sculptors and I feel kind of bad not knowing the names of the people that created the dolls I love so much. It's possible I could even have sculpts made by the same person, and not know it!

    4. I'd love a database of sculptors! It would be great to follow an artist you admire when they change companies or do work for different companies.

    5. This sounds like a great idea! It would be very interesting and enlightening to see which sculptor created which doll. I'm not aware of one personally, which strikes me as a strange lack now that I think of it. But how easy would it be to get this information? Sculptors aren't always credited on company websites, so how would we find out who did what?

    6. It would require a lot of q&a board questions, definitely!

    7. That would be neat! A massive undertaking!

It's funny because just yesterday I was wondering what happened to the Custom House sculptors and if they found other jobs after the company went under.

    8. I thought they went to Rosen lied?

This is exactly why a database would be useful XD

    9. Did they? I have no idea, or any idea how to find out- so yes indeed- a sculptor data base would answer that question.

    10. that would be awesome ^^

I remember seeing the VOLKS one a while ago too but even that wasn't very complete, it would be great to know the name of the person who sculpted each doll

    11. I think it would be cool to have such a database.

I know the sculptor for Raam-Cube did some sculpts for Souldoll. (the ones that were all discontinued at the same time about a year? ago)
Yuna of Cozydoll (was Pixydoll) sculpted for Crobidoll and Luts.
