Dollshe and the sculptor may not advertise his products on this forum. Sales may not be discussed, no news threads may be posted regarding new releases. This ban does not impact any dolls by Dollshe ordered by November 8, 2023. Any dolls ordered after November 8, 2023, regardless of the date the sculpt was released, are banned from this forum as are any dolls released under his new or future companies including but not limited to Club Coco BJD.       30/12 UPDATE Taking new mould preorders for REGULAR RESIN. Yes you heard me right, NOT French resin.

      Due to the many concerns(not only in SG, China as well) raised about French resin, AA will not be releasing French resin as yet. AA will be taking orders to produce the current moulds+new moulds in REGULAR RESIN till TOMORROW. After that, all moulds in regular resin will be discontinued. We'll not be seeing new dolls till March/April as AA will be taking a break. After that, all will be switched to French resin and the price will double.

      The boys will have a new body. The girls will not have a new body.

    4. I didn't ask why they wanted to change to French resin... but I know that they actually wanted to change to Japanese resin, but it'll be even more expensive. I'm not sure how much the price will rise, I've asked about that but the dealers themselves don't know as yet. ;)

    5. Well, its said the new dolls will come with new bodies.
      The designer made some improvements in junction parts and hands.

    6. My understanding of French resin is not that it yellows more rapidly, but that for the first 3-4 months after casting it's a bit unstable, and thus more sensitive to things like light and heat. If it's exposed to those much during that time, then it will yellow. However, after that it stabilizes and becomes just like other kinds of resin.

      Also, I think "French resin" is a reference to the resin type, not where it's made (it's a type that was developed in France, but it's produced in other places as well, now). That could be wrong, though.

    7. Hmm. It'll be good if it's that way. Cuz I've read somewhere that French resin has a nice glow, but it yellows rapidly and hard to maintain. I've no idea where they're developed, it could be just a name.

      My poor wallet. D: And new hands? Wow...I'm definitely going to have to buy one of the boys. <3

      As to what someone said about French resin stabilizing after a few months -- does that mean that if you keep them boxed during that time, then bring them out, they should act similarly to normal resin? Because I'd imagine they'd still yellow quickly either way...but I don't know much about the chemistry behind this all. :sweat

    14. Update from the China dealers:

      AA will no longer take orders of the current moulds(Ling, Yi, Er, San, Qi, Ba, Jiu, Shi) from 2008. This means that we can only order the instocks the dealers have, no more new ones will be manufactured. The prices of these moulds will not rise.

      However, the prices of Liu, Si & Wu will rise from 2008. These moulds are made of French resin. They will be double the price of the current AAs. Liu is currently available for order(you can order at the current price), Si & Wu hopefully can be ordered next week. I hope they'll be released before 2008.

      AA will be releasing new moulds next year. They will come with new bodies, and of course made of French resin. Apparently, they're also gonna release more sleeping heads.

    15. Ahh! I really want to get Er. No fair no fair. XD Hopefully I can make enough money in time! Or maybe I'll like one of the newer molds.

    16. I have to say I'm not too thrilled about the change of resin (to something I tend to hear mostly bad stuff about) and then raising the price because of it...
      I thought they were really beautiful dolls at a great price.
      But perhaps they will surprise us all ~

    17. ... but not rereleasing the first 8 molds? Well i stopped wanting a Yi anyways but this is not happy news, all companies seem to want to stop releasing molds lately.

      There is one more doll i want... i better try to save money quicker so if ever i hear the discontinuing then i can just press the 'buy' button ^^
