1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Angell Studio french resin?

Jul 21, 2021

    1. Hi all,

(mods pls move this if this isnt the right category).

Im curious if Angell Studio is still using their french resin? I know they used to and I didnt find an update in the wiki, but maybe they changed it and the wiki didnt get updated since there certainly are many entries with years old data.

On s similar note: is french resin today still as waxy and quick to yellow or has there been development?

Im real curious cause I got offered a pretty AS girl from 2017 and Im tempted, but I very much hated french resin back in the day and wouldnt touch it if it still is as unstable as back then.

    2. So I'm not certain about AS resin however I did have one of their french resin bodies that was probably not much older than that. I wanted to pop in to say however that french resin is absolutely not the nightmare it once was. I have a loongsoul Chen Xing made with french resin from 2012 and she has mellowed somewhat, but it's very reasonable for any doll her age, french resin or no, she is not bright yellow or unattractive looking.

    3. Interesting. What did resin look like close up? Is it still slightly transculent?

    4. Yes, when compared to standard resins you can tell there is a bit of translucency. But it's pretty subtle. It is visible in the way the light hits the surface of the doll and just seems to "glow" slightly more as it's refracted through the upper layers of semi transparent material.

    5. I own several AS but they are pretty new so i can’t comment on the yellowing. The oldest one is the mermaid around 2yrs old. Their resin is a bit translucent. I have Little Monica doll and AS resint is translucent than LM, but AS resin feels more smooth and pleasant to the touch.
One thing I can say is I like their body aesthetic and posing. If they can make double knee joints it would be perfect
