1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

another art thief with DOA registration uncovered

May 20, 2014

    1. Few weeks ago i found another vk.com public, admin of which used stolen pics to advertize her mediator/sales services.
      Eniva Queen on Flickr
      Yulia Ryadinskaya on vk.com
her public Dolly-doll Public with over 4 thousand pics. She was stealing them from all over Flickr and deviantart, photo-editing, collaging stolen pics and sometimes even putting her own logo over stolen pics, as well as cropping Dollmore and not only watermarks

more proofs in my Flickr album here
there are much more on her public wall, i'm afraid(

    2. This saddens me, why not just appreciate the art instead of stealing it.

    3. It not just saddens, it sickens.

    4. What the heck is it with all the thievery lately? Or is it people becoming more vigilant? :?

    5. It's always been going on. So many people just grab stuff if they think they can get away with... :(

I think BJDs are more popular, so more people are stealing and more people are being vigilant. Bigger group of people, bigger percentage of people who have questionable ethics. It's just life.

Why they do it instead of just enjoying other people's photos, or just making their own? Because the easy way is what some people are tempted by--like instead of saving up money for a doll, some will buy a cheaper re-cast... Some people will see images and really like them and simply right-click! And color-change them. And call them their own work. Like some people will see someone's phone and steal it because it is right there and they don't have to pay for it.

I'm glad people are being vigilant, though. Copyright and intellectual property and theft on the internet are all big issues these days.

    6. I'll speak for myself. I'm not more or less vigilant than i ever was. It's just that mediators/sellers are becoming more greedy/make mistakes by taking work of other people to show how great they are. By posting those stolen pics they draw more attention, by claiming their rights on stolen art/photo/whatever they draw even more attention. Those mediator publics always start with promo pics. Then - a few of taken pics with reference to author might appear. What we have next - hunger for more likes, for more attention, for more money - outcome - people become too lazy to post references to authors and upload pics by dozens.

    7. Oh no not again... this sucks!!! These art thieves are ruining the hobby for so many talented artists, doll owners. Its ridiculous they want to promote their websites/blogs/galleries using other ppl's works.... cropping watermarks is so dirty. At least ppl are vigilant in this community, finding and reporting the infringers.

    8. You know this issue really scares me. And every time i see new dirty tricks to fool websites/blogs/galleries visitors.

    9. If you want to show how good your modifications or face-ups can be, take pictures of your own! Using other people's work requires giving them credit. If your too lazy to do that, use your own photos! It seems pretty freaking obvious to me, and failing to do so is going to make the community angry.

    10. It is one thing to save a picture on your computer or phone to look at but once you post it as your own makes me mad...

    11. Since it's shops and mediators, it's not just mods and face-ups. It's like they came to some author/artist/designer, stole a thing and later put it up on their own display to attract more customers. Since there is no reference, people think that thing in display belongs to the thief. I've read lotz of comments like "First i thought this is someone elses doll, but then i saw your logo and OH, what a pretty doll you have, great picture! Nice job"

    12. So what happens in situations like this when a photo thief is spotted? Past informing the owner of the picture so they can try to get it removed. Do people report it somehow, assuming it is a legal matter, or is it a matter of shaking heads and avoiding that website?

    13. The only way to report anyone on vk.com - is to find on which server pics are posted, try to find owner of that server and after only author can file stolen art case. This public moderations and admins told me, not once, that they are not responsible for content posted, that Internet is a freeware store where everything is for taking!
That is third case of art stealing - first public had topic here and on russian BJD resources and after some time admin deleted all stolen pics. Second was cleared either after vk.com admins or public admin deleted all the wall pics (only promo pics left) after receiving complaint.

    14. That is a real big scale theft of 4 thousand pictures!! I am sure the karma gets around.
Thank you for sharing, will definitely avoid the clicking the site.

    15. I feel the same being an artist, myself. Thanks for the heads up. Hope that site gets cleared too and they get caught for this. ><

    16. I hope it will get cleared too! The least i can do, is keep my head up for things like that.

    17. So what is the payoff for these people? Prestige? Internet fame? It can't be money (or can it?) ....

In any case, what a ridiculous thing to do.

    18. As an artist, I absolutely hate art thieves, especially those linked to money.
It just isn't fair to the original artist.
I don't like how art thieves can sit there and do almost nothing and get the money.
So wrong on so many levels.
