1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Any idea which BJDs fit into Blythe clothes?

Jun 24, 2014

    1. I'm wondering if any of you know which BJDs fit into Blythe clothes. I don't own any Blythes, but I do love the idea of a slim mini BJD size - and it would be nice if it wasn't difficult to find clothes for them.

    2. I'm not sure if there are any on topic dolls that can fit into Blythe clothes, but about your comment on finding clothes for slim minis, I own two slim minis and I find them absolutely the best dolls to sew for. There are plenty of slim mini clothes (in various styles) on Etsy and here in the DoA marketplace once you obtain marketplace access. Good luck in the clothing hunt!

    3. I agree with animagic4u…I've not heard of any BJDs that fit into Blythe clothing.

The thing is, most BJDs are much bigger than Blythes. Imagine something with a head just around an inch smaller than a Blythe's head, but now imagine the body below that head being in proportion to the head (instead of chibi). That is basically an SD-sized BJD.

Of course there are various sizes of BJDs! ^_^
That was just an example. "Slim mini" as a BJD size is still much larger than a Blythe's body. Perhaps there is a tiny that is close? I'm not really sure. I think even then, they are usually thicker in their bodies.

Something like this thread might be fun to look through. Or this one.

    4. I have a Cherish Doll that fits into Blythe clothes, and Xaga Doll's Red Obsidian line of anime styled dolls fit into Blythe clothing I believe. Apparently Cherish Doll has merged with Migi Doll and on that site they are called C-series dolls with the Faith size being the Blythe sized ones: http://www.migidoll.com/shop/step0.php?b_code=B20130703032800&c_code=C20130703033025

I know there are a few more but those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head :)

ETA here is a thread with a few more examples: http://www.denofangels.com/forums/s...Licca-or-Pure-Neemo-clothing&highlight=Blythe

    5. I was wondering the same thing!

@ Lady Revenswood: I like your explanation! That really makes sense to me now!

I've always thought perhaps their hats or other Blythe accessories might fit some BJD sizes, but obviously not their clothes since they have such tiny bodies. I've also noticed a lot of Blythe owners switch the original Blythe body with Azone bodies, probably for more posability since Blythes are stiff as a Barbie.

The only size I can think of would be probably 1/12, which are I'm thinking the same size as a Barbie doll? Not sure though since I own neither a Blythe nor a 1/12 BJD, but you can ask around in any 1/12 doll discussion thread under "Tiny" dolls, asian or non-asian. Again, like stated before, Blythe bodies are shorter and stubbier, way not proportionate, so it would take a bit of research to find what you're looking for!

    6. Thanks everyone - yeah, I probably should have said slim tiny. I often get the two terms confused. I'll check out those thread recommendations!

    7. Blythe and Barbie are both 1/6 scale, but they have interesting proportions.

    8. @ honilee: Yeah, I guess they do count as 1/6, but their 1/6 is totally different than a 1/6 BJD :P But wait, so what is a 1/12? x_x

    9. The size of "traditional" dollhouse dolls or thereabouts.

    10. I'm glad it was helpful. ^__^

It's interesting to see which dolls do fit! Always learning something new.

    11. Tinybear's "large" Moona and Fallow fit into Bratz clothes; how different is the sizing for Blythe than for Bratz?

    12. I have some (off topic) Hujoos that fit pretty well in everything Blythe except for the sleeves (their arms are a bit too thick)

Though I also have a Pupapa Dreamscreator Quino, I'm gonna check if she fits in those clothes and report back tomorrow :)

    13. Maskcat 21cm dolls fit in most blythe clothing; they are 1/3 size of an SD and are meant to be in scale SD dolls for actual 60cm Sd dolls.

    14. There are some slim tinies that fit Blythe clothes. ResinSoul and Bobobie girls like March and Isabella fit Blythe dresses and tops, but not pants. Planetdoll 22Honey dolls fit dresses and tops, but not pants. While I can't confirm it myself yet Planetdoll Mini girls (Mini Riz, Renée ect) should also fit dresses. I also have a CustomHouse Bisou Ai that wears Blythe and Licca dresses.

    15. I have a Soom Imda 2.2 Collette, and She fits in Blythe clothing. She has big hands so most of the Blythe clothes have to be the sleeveless ones. She is also shorter than Blythe, so that is taken into consideration.

    17. @ Maskcat: Niiiiiiice~ xD

I wish Blythe clothes fit standard Yo-SD kids, as there are a LOT of Blythe
enthusiasts, and that means there are a lot of seamstresses (Etsy) which also inadvertently means that they have so many pretty clothing and a huge range of choices :D <3

    18. dollzone 27cm slim tiny fit SOME styles of Blythe clothing - this blonde girl on the right of photo, is wearing a full-length, long sleeved Blythe dress, which on her is knee length and 3/4 sleeve - looks so adorable though (from yukijiro on etsy)

    19. I have a soom modigli 2.2 (like theresa 226) and quite a few blythe dresses fit - here she is in one, standing next to an imda 3.0, so you can see the size difference and how that translates into proportions...

If you're interested in more mature looking slim minis, there are a couple of ranges that are similar to barbies in size e.g. soom minigem and and lumedoll lumelights... Mine are currently wearing action figure clothing (haven't tried blythe, but they are pretty slender dolls...).
