Dollshe and the sculptor may not advertise his products on this forum. Sales may not be discussed, no news threads may be posted regarding new releases. AoD Ai Ai; Information Gathering

    1. Hi guys. I think this may very well be my first post here, hah. I just recently purchased and received my little Ai Ai, and I have been able to buy some clothes for him - girl clothes, granted, but clothes nonetheless. Basically, I was wondering if anyone else here has him, and what size wigs/clothes to buy, or where to look to find them in general. I'm looking for a fairly long (midback or longer) green wig, in particular, and some actual boyclothes/shoes. His page on AoD is HERE.

      His measurements, should you need them, are as follows:

      Height:27 cm
      Circumference of head:17 cm
      Circumference of neck:6.5 cm
      Shoulder width:7.5 cm
      Length of arm:7.8 cm
      Circumference of Bust:13.5 cm
      Circumference of Waist:12.5 cm
      Circumference of Hips:13.5 cm
      Length of leg:11 cm
      Circumference of thigh:7.5 cm
      Length of foot:3.5 cm

    2. I'd love to see pictures of your boy, he's one of my favorite AoD tinies:D I don't have one yet and sadly I don't know of any who do o.o Hopefully they'll come out of the woodwork after seeing this though:D

    4. A million thanks on that link, nightshade - it definitely gives me a place to start, at least, and the clothes aren't terribly expensive. I'll probably end up making my own anyway, oh well xD;
      Anyway, is NiNi's head the same size as AiAi's? If so, have you bought/figured out what wig size you need? o_o I'm apparently a total noob when it comes to this :o
      EDIT: **I do have pictures of him up on my photobucket, ready to share and everything, but my school fails and blocks PB, so I'll have to upload them to tinypic or wait til tomorrow to put pictures up ><;

    5. I just bought my own AiAi: Merlin. He came with some (atrocious) basic clothes, but I'm going to be knitting/crocheting/sewing him some new things in the next few weeks. Any patterns I come up with, I'll try and link here, okay?

      BTW, if you figure out where to get some wigs, please post! I'm trying to figure out what he needs, but since he's my first (though I'm definitely planning more!) I'm kinda feeling my way through the dark here.

    6. Heliel, if you measure around your new guy's head just above his ears/eyebrows, that's the wig size he'll need in inches. Seventeen centimeters, if I'm converting right (not quite 8 inches), would be Size 7/8? That seems kind of big for a 27cm doll (most MSDs wear 7/8), but not impossible, if he has a big noggin (I can never tell proportions from photos & I haven't seen an AiAi in the resin). Once you've gotten out your tape measure and figured out the right size (or tied a piece of string around his head & measured the string against a flat ruler), the Monique wig company has a couple different mid-back wigs in lime green, "Faith" and "Trix", which are available through any number of reputable doll retailers. I like www.facetsbymarcia.com and www.audreysdolls.com for their selection & service, but there are many other excellent on-line sources.

    7. Anne, the AiAi *does* have a large head; that was part of the reason it attracted me. It's not overly large, more the proportions a child's head has to their body rather than an adult's (which makes sense, it's a child's frame from what I can tell). Thanks for the information though! Still feeling my way through, and advice is always welcomed.

    8. If you like that type of wig - Tibetan wool - you can get a wig that fits from Tinybear.

      You don't even have to use the order form - you can just PM her here at DOA.


      If you don't like those (BTW you can get Tinybear to try and make a colour for you.) I can recomend Marcia.


      What I like about the Tibetan wool wigs are that they are so soft and wonderful to touch and that you can style it yourself. Since it's a natural fiber - it's like a fur "hat" - you can use human hair mousse and things like that on the wig.

    9. I have Ai Ai too =D Hes name is Liam. I hope you have found the zise on the wig, But I have a question 4 you. My Ai ai hava a problem Hes leggs are in difrent zises have you that too?
