1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Appraisal of dolls destroyed

Mar 31, 2026 at 5:00 AM

    1. Hi everyone,

I recently had two of my dolls destroyed... and I'm really sad about it. I'm really torn up that I'm not going to be able to get them specifically back.. All I have is a thigh piece left. Honestly makes me sick to think about. They happened to be Dreamhigh studio Frezia and Harpy.. I believe only 25 of each of them were made in 2012... I was wondering if it's possible any experts could possibly assist me on a value for each doll? I realize it's unlikely that I'm going to be able to ever rebuy them because they are very rare and honestly I was very attached to the ones that I had specifically. You know they're kind of part of the family.. I think anybody that collects dolls understands how difficult it is to just lose one of them that they've had for a very long time.. They had the boxes, all of their pieces and did not have any damage.

      Thank you,
      E3ternity

    2. I'm sorry for your loss..
I'd try to determine a "replacement value" by searching past sales listings on various platforms, like the sold dolls archive, eBay, etc. see if you can find a handful of listings, even if they are from years ago. That should at least give you a starting point for their value. Good luck.

    3. I'm not a bjd expert, so I don't have any better advice to offer than skyealloway suggested (although that does seem like a good place to start). I just wanted to say I'm so sorry that you lost them. I definitely know how that feels (lost many treasures during Katrina) and it is not easy!

If you ever do want to replace them, you might try putting a Want-to-buy in the Marketplace. Sometimes older dolls are waiting around for new homes, sometimes people even forget they have them - you never know.

    4. I agree with all the previous suggestions. The only other suggestion I have to offer is if you ever received email receipts for their purchases, then you would have a record of what you paid for them at the very least. I am sorry you lost them but I am glad you are physically okay.
