1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Are all Dollshe bodies the same as the Bermann body?

Jun 8, 2006

    1. Hey ya'll... stupid question but do saint and bernard have different bodies (ie are they improved) from Bermann/hound? or are they the same?

    2. Saint and Bernard have the same body that the current V2.5 Hound bodies have. It's a bit different from a Bermann body, but looks just like the current crop of Hounds.

    3. All Dollshe boys (after the first Hound release) have the same body. Minor changes have been made - the hands are now one piece instead of two, and the shoulder notch is more visible.
The Bermanns released before Heimdall had two part hands that were a different, thinner sculpt than the current Dollshe hands. The shoulder has the extra rotator cuff (similar to the Volks SD16 boy or CP Delf boy), and the extra cup at the elbow and knee joint. The torsos are also less muscular, the shoulders are a bit thinner (and one side is slightly shorter than the other), and the feet have shorter, rounder toes. I haven't seen Heimdall's feet, but if they've changed his hands they might have swapped his feet, too. :) I guess they were a little too...idiosyncratic? I also don't know if they've gone to the plain double joint for knees and elbows.
I guess what we need is a good nude photo of all these guys together. I think there might be one of each here in the Bay Area, so we could make an attempt at some point. :) Except Christy would have to come down here with Vincente.

    4. That would be a cool trip actually! :)

      Someday.....someday....

Hey - question on what people are calling the "3 part hands"....I understand one piece and 2 piece, but where does the '3' come from?

Like Vincente's hands have a piece that you remove and reveals the hook in his hand, so he would have 2 pieces to his hand. The newer bodies I guess just have the ball and the hand as one piece....guess I need to study my IM hound as he has the latest body at the moment...but I'm not understanding the '3 piece' description.

    5. That's because I've been sniffing glue all day (stupid Cheshire Cat costume!), and I'm talking crazy. It's not a three part system like Volks one-touch, it's two parts. I'll go back and edit that for clarity's sake. There's already so much misinformation floating around. :sweat

    6. Bernard, Saint, Husky, all Hound types have the same body.
When there is an update all the boys get the updated body.

Bermann has his own body, which is IMO very different from Hound's body.

Kaoru was the same height as Die [both 70cm], but the differences:

      - Shoulders: H's shoulders are very broad and straight, B's are more slouching.
      - Shoulder joints: B has an extra bowl [like the DELF boy shoulders] H hasn't got that.
      - Elbow joints: B has like the shoulder joints and extra bowl, H doesn't. [single]
      - Wrist joints: B's wrist-end comes out a little, this stops the handjoint from popping out, H's is straight and hand will most of the time pop out when moving the hand to far to the side.
      - Torso joint: B more slouching more difficult to pull straight, H more fitted and stands straight seems like the elastic has no pull on it.
      - Waist joint: H's waist is more fitted, B's is very smooth to move isn't as deep.
      - Hands: H's hands are larger, fingers/nails are larger and longer than B's
      - Knee joints: tha same
      - Ankle joints: B's calves reach lover than H's
      - Feet: H's feet are larger than B's
      - Head: B's head is larger [9inch] and H's head is 8,5inch

So all in all they have different bodies, especially the upper body/shoulders.
And when I mention "H" I also mean Husky, Bernard, Saint.

About the height of Bermann...Kaoru is the same height as Hound, I'm not sure if that should be the case XD
He was taller than the original 77 Bermann, but still smaller than Hound.

      Sabriell

    7. Sabriell, thankyou for this detailed comparison list of Dollshe bodies - only just discovered it but I've been wondering where to find such info, so thanx!

    8. Just to make this more confusing - or perhaps more clear?

Bermann - Bermann only body, excepting the tanned Bermanns which come with a Ver. 2 Hound body.

Haute Hound and Ver. 1 Hounds - a small run of bodies similar to the Bermann - same resin, differences in the sculpt - flat deltoids rather than arched, nicer hand sculpt.

Version 2 bodies - all Dollshe boys excepting the Bermann now come with this body. It's a beautifully sculpted body with the most exquisite hands and body details. A different resin, however, than the Version 1 and Bermann bodies.

    9. Zag - wasn't there an early version of the Version 2 bodies that had the 2-part hand/wrist? I have one like that. His torso definitely isn't the thinner v1.

    10. Yep:) That's totally correct!

Sorry, I forgot that detail. Thanks!
