Are your dolls close to your age?

Nowhere near my age...ahaha;; all of my characters are in their teens or ridiculously ancient. I've probably watched too much anime. The closest in age I am to my dolls is a 6 year gap, 7 in a few months.

 

My dolls are ageless, some are definitely more mature than the others, but I really can't stick a number on them. Maybe that is a good reflection of me then after all, my mental age probably is not reflective of my actual age (38). LOL

The I'm nearly 50 and the eldest of my SD gang is in her late teens. The rest of the SD size gang range from fourteen down to eight years old (mostly members of the same extended family - siblings, half-siblings and cousins).
The eldest of the Slim-Minis is early 20s', the others early to mid teens, the Small-Minis (and Banjis) are children
The Minis are young children, as are the Tinies (Petites and LittleFee etc)
The Teenie-Tinies (Pukis) are ageless little fae creatures.

I have just acquired a dolls-house scale adult BJD, who is probably mid-to-late 20's... so even she doesn't come close to my own age.

It really depends! My dolls come in all kind of ages... There's a lot of them that are relatively close to me being in their twenties, but I also have quite a few children and teens, older characters that are way into their forties as well as timeless creatures that range in everything between a few hundred years old to as old as the world itself and even older...

 

Well given that I am 22, most of my human dolls are in their 20s (with one being in their early 30s). My non human dolls range from only a couple of years to thousands of years.

 

I dunno, I guess so? I'm 36 and I don't really have a specific age assigned to any of my dolls but I suppose I think of my SD's characters (vague as they are) as being fully-grown adults, not particularly young and not particularly old... which is how I feel about/perceive my own age as well. So.... sure, I guess you can say they're the same age as me.

 

I'm 27 and I think my older dolls might be around 20-25? So a bit younger than me. And the kid is a kid, maybe... 6. I haven't really done any final decision about their ages.
If I get a mature looking sculpt they'll definitely be older than me, I like the fact that I can think about things from a different perspective when my characters have different ages.

 

Some yes but some no! I'm 25 and I have many sizes of dolls from 3 to 28 y.o. and for non-human (vampires) more than thousands years old.

My YoSD is about 8 years old, her mum and dad are 32 and 35. My other two humans are 25 and 28.

Then there is a Norse god, several thousand years old, and a guy born during the time of WW II.

Finally, there is an alien about 200 years old. His alter ego is a dragon who is about 1000 years old.

 

No, not really. I love the tinies and I see them as kids. Though I've started to love dolls of other sizes. I blame DoA

 

Sort of. The youngest one is 20-22, three are 26-28, two are 28-30 and the eldest three are 29-31, depending on when in the story. I have vague, eventual plans for a pair of 5-8 year olds, a couple more early 20s and eventually some in the 40-55 range, but that's not until after a) we get moved and b) I find sculpts that will work for the elders, and c) I get to that point in the series.

I wrote the first draft of their stories when I was in my late 20s and early 30s, though the characters have aged some in subsequent drafts. In terms of their cultural status, the ones over about 24 start the story when they area well established in their careers and social circles, have built some stability and are facing adult challenges.

I'm a trailing edge GenXer, closer to 40 than 20.

 

Mostly no. My human dolls range in age from 10-26. The 26 yo is the closest to me, I'm 28. I also have 3 non-human/ageless dolss currently with plans for several more. My main collection are DDs, and a majority of them are based on high school age anime characters, and so that's around how old my dolls are. My oldest that is the closest in age to me is my DD Kos Mos since she is the most mature looking girl I own.

 

My dolls are all over the place. I'm 24, my youngest doll is 17, my oldest is around 500 :P I created them for some of my fantasy characters so they are either ageless or have longer lifespans than we do. Some of my dolls don't have an age.

 

Some are, but most are not. My youngest is 2 and my oldest is 35, but most of them are 14 to 18.

My fantasy dolls don't really have ages, but most of them appear to be 6 or 7 (They're mostly tinies) I guess my SD fantasy dolls are probably older, at least they act older. LOL.

Currently, no. The dolls that I have coming to me are all YoSD (1/6) size, they all look like young children. I haven't thought of ages, yet but they are younger than me. I am just starting out though and I hope some time in the future to have a variety of sizes and ages. However, I would expect most to not reflect my age.
