1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    2. There will be two major contests...

      Sewing Contest

As big fans of the show 'Project Runway' we thought it would be a great idea to have our own version as a contest for those seamstresses out there.

Between the dates of August 1, 2013 and October 1st, 2013 we are calling on any who would want to enter to submit entries.

The theme is Fall Garden Party and all entries should be reminiscent of fall with colors, concepts, etc.
Another underlining theme you can also incorporate is Halloween/Classic Monsters.
Contestants are asked to make three outfits in a mini collection for your dolls that work together as a runway inspired show.

As with the show you want to make them lovely and not costumey though you may do one as a costume piece seeing that it is Halloween you might even do that pc as Haute Couture.

These outfits will be shown on Friday of the convention during opening ceremonies and the 'surprise' will be given to you of having to make one more outfit out of unconventional items that we will provide for you.

We ask that you bring any fabric that was used in the collection with you so that your fourth look will be cohesive with the rest of your collection.

On Sunday before Closing Ceremonies we will ask those entered to hand in your fourth design and then all four piece's will be judged on cohesiveness, style, attention to detail, and creativity.

The winner will then be chosen and prizes awarded accordingly.

      Prizes

1st Prize: Winner will be featured in Alison Rasmussen's new book. She will interview the winner and also do a photo shoot with their doll for the book. The winning fashion will be featured in the book in pattern form with basic instructions. Winners will be given full credit in the book, a free copy of the book upon publication, and wholesale cost on the book in any quantity in the future. Winner also gets a Pre Registered VIP ticket to next years convention.

2nd Prize: Second place winner gets a free admission to next years convention and an outfit by Marbled Halls

3rd Prize: Third place winner gets a CD of patterns and some awesome fabric and trims.

Gemstone Jewelry and accessories for Dolls, including crowns, tiaras, armor and wings, made from metal.

Brandy Sinclair began metalworking at a young age, honing her skills in one grandfather’s workshop, and at her other grandfather’s farm. Being of Welsh, Seneca, Cherokee and Scottish heritage, her love of history was sparked early by numerous family legends and cultural lore. Luckily, she grew up just down the street from her hometown's library and was able to spend many cozy hours curled up by the fireplace or hidden deep in the archive stacks. She first became interested in dolls as a way to challenge herself by working in miniature, but as she learned more about them she fell in love with their beauty and personality. Brandy's favorite part about making doll accessories is the freedom she has to create bold, fantastic pieces that would be difficult to execute in full scale.

    6. Thanks Cat I think I've fixed it now.
I suck at html coding and combined with copying it into fb it did some weird compression thing and ran everything together.

    7. Is there a discussion thread here on DoA for those planning to attend?

    8. I had not seen one yet AmyAngel.

    9. Perhaps you should start one? Believe it or not, there are those of us out there who avoid Facebook like the plague.

    10. Would the discussion thread go under meetups/conventions/general discussions?
I am not being dense just not quite sure where to put it.
