1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Looking for panel and workshop submissions as well.
These can be Ball Jointed Doll related and we would not mind some Lolita panels as well.
We have some folks already doing panels but we have more room this year so need more content.

This is shaping up to be a great convention and second year.

    5. Room block will be open soon.
I will post when it is and the room rate.

Remember register your room early on as this helps the convention to know how many are going to be there and also helps the hotel as well.
In many cases the more rooms that are rented out the more the convention will be able to do more for you the attendees.

We have a lot planned for this year with some late night activities as well.

And as always Pinata Fight Club!

    6. Room block is open now.

Room rate is $79.00 per night.

When calling to reserve your room please let them know your are reserving for the Ball Jointed doll convention in October.

      Atlanta, Georgia 30341

      Hotel: 770-457-6363

      Fax: 770-458-5282

    7. Please remember if you are planning to come to the convention to reserve your room early.
This does several things to help us.
First it gives us an idea of how many people will be showing.
Two it gives us a number for how many goody bags need to be made, this is added to how many register as well.
Three the hotel gives us a certain amount of rooms at a given cost if we do not meet that room block then fees get charged which is detrimental to a convention.
Four the more rooms that get booked the more the hotel will look on us favorably as we bring in guests to the site.

So please book your rooms at the hotel.
Each room is capable of sleeping 4 people in the double beds.

We will have a green room again this year.

    8. Costume Contest

The theme this year is 'It Came From Outer Space'
Underlying theme as always is Halloween.
Think of all those awesome movies with aliens in it. From the classics of the 1950's to present day.
We are talking It Came From Outer Space, Destination Moon, Forbidden Planet, Invaders from Mars, War of the Worlds, Them!, This Island Earth, and so many more.
Use your imagination to create costumes for you and your dolls.

      There will be three categories...

Handmade...Costume must be made by you for your doll.

Store bought...Bought from a store or another person for your doll.

Mini Me...This category is you and your doll in matching outfits or outfits that compliment each other and have a theme or story that goes with them.

Costumes will be judged by a panel of judges chosen from the guests at convention as well as your hosts.

There will be First, Second and Third place prizes.

    9. We are currently accepting programming requests and submissions.
If you would like to propose a panel, workshop, etc. please let us know in the comments.

If you would like to host a panel or workshop please email me with the details of the panel and a small bio about you.
      [email protected]

Please realize that submitting a request does NOT guarantee that you will be given programming time.

Only submit a panel if you are willing and competent to host or lead the panel/workshop yourself.

If you are willing to do several panels we may in our discretion offer you a badge in return for your time.

If you know anyone who would like to do panels or workshops please share this info with them.

As she grew and learned from her experiences she realized more and more how much these things meant to her and she learned the value of hard work and determination. In time she married and had three beautiful children who were the light of her life. Although her family was the most important thing in her life, she never stopped creating things of beauty to share with others and also to help provide for her family.

Over several years of real life getting in the way, hardships and more lessons learned she finally decided to create a business which she named, “The Mushroom Peddler”.

Created in 2000, Affordable Designs - Canada is often referred to as the "little doll company that can". Despite being a two man operation, this little doll company has customers around the world. It has been featured in magazines in North America and Europe, seen in museums, has made and continue to make its mark on the very competitive world of modern dolls.
Originaly an outlet to sell hand-made fashion doll outfits in limited edition, Affordable Designs - Canada soon felt the need to expand to what is now a doll company in all sense of the word.
The AFFORDABLE DESIGNS division is now the go to place for collectors who like to sew for their dolls. More than 150 sewing patterns for many different sizes and styles of dolls are offered both as "printed patterns" or "electronic (PDF) patterns.
The LEEANN division, created in 2005, is the home of Affordable Designs' very first line of dolls. From a first collection of three basic dolls and three outfits the LEEANN DOLL LINE had continued to grow. Six different dolls ( LEEANN, LENNY, LENEDA, LEROY, LIN-LIN and LIANG ) have enjoyed over the years more than 100 different outfits, 75 different styles of shoes, many accessories, and its own sewing pattern line. The LEEANN doll started as a non-articulated vinyl dolls but has since been offered in a new articulated ( vinyl and hard-plastic ) body.
The BEJU DOLLS division, created in 2013, is Affordable Designs' newest venture.
Over the years the "little doll company that can" has expanded but is still considered a very small company. Although it has moved ( mostly ) out of the home / basement location of its beginnings to a larger studio / wharehouse location, it is still a two man operation. It only means we have to work harder... and we love it !
