Avatar-afraid to change it?

I tend to use a combination of people's avatar and signature to identify them at a glance, though I still change both of mine on a fairly regular basis :

 

I duno. People keep complimenting me on my avatar , so it makes me not want to change it... even though I love my Toppi and really want to put her in it xD;. Maybe I'll just draw a picture of her in the same style ^-^ problem solved *laughs*!

As for other people, I remember them based on a combination of both name and avatar.

 

I remember people based on their username, so I'll recognize them even though they've changed their avatar. And like Xi-feng said, I also find their signatures very helpful as they tend to change way less often than avatars unless to add another doll to the crew.

 

I use the avatar like a religion. XDD Though if I didn't recognize the new one I'd look at the username. I don't forget usernames often. >_> The avvies just a big help.

 

I do first recognize people by their avatars, but when the avatar changes I find I remember them anyway, so it must be that I remember the name too.

I've changed my avatar a few times. Some people do it often, others almost never.

I remember mostly by signature, avatar, and sometimes by name. I change my av only once a month if that, mostly because I'm lazy

 

well i'm pretty new so i don't really know anyone here but for the most part on forums i identify people first by their avatar/signature and then by their name. some people on other forums i know by name so it's not a problem when they change their avatar but tis a confusing situation when one changes their ava and then no one knows who they are XD i'll probably change my avatar soon >.> i'll get my brother to make me a prettiful one lol!

 

I look at names when I'm IDing people on forum boards, not sig or avatar images... I still don't change my own avatars very often, though. They're what I scan for when I'm trying to find my own posts! ^_^

 

I tend to stick to the same avatar or variation of the same avatar character on all sites. I get used to peoples avatars andsometimes get confused when avatars change

 

I remember names rather than avatars..
I don't even look on avatars too often ^^;

 

I do that too If I want to track down one of my posts I scan for my avater ^^" I also do this when searching for other people's posts, but I often remember them by their name.
I changing my avater now and then if I get bored, just like my signature.

 

Avatars are easier for identification purposes, being more visual. But since people change their avatars from time to time, they aren't ideal for identification.
I remember people's user names, but that also means that I recognise fewer people than I would have if I had a reliable visual aid.

I have the same avatar since I registred, though. I like it!

 

I'm a very visual person, so I tend to remember people at first by their avatar alone. But because people can change their avatars fairly often, I take extra care to remember their names, too. It just takes me a little longer.

I change my own avatar and signature pretty often, though. I can't resist; I like updating the pictures of my dolls and putting up a favorite picture as my avatar.

 

I tend to remember names not images, in fact the the longer i am here on DoA the less i look at the avatars. I will be changing mine as soon as i can be bothered to take a decent pic of my BJD family.

 

Im a very visual person. I tend to recognize Avatars first. And I do get confused when people change their avatars. But, after a while, I learn to associate the name with the new avatar. (Ofcourse, by the time Im comfortable with the new avatar, they change it again!!! )

 

I tend to recognize avatars and signatures yes not only, I remember names too sometimes , but it's true I'm afraid to change mine and people won't recognize me

 

I voted that I remember people based on their avatar.But actually I do remember names too,it is just when I'm not totally sure of the name,avatar helps. (What a long sentence. )

 

XD i practically remember only the avatars.....i kno like 5 peoples names thats it...but im not afraid to, but i guess i like to keep mine the way it is i guess cause its easier that way .....

 

I'm terrible with names, it's all about the visual for me ^_^ I change my sig plenty, but I don't think I'll be changing my avatar--Naioki would kick me XD
