1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Bjd addition to buying?

Jul 2, 2014

    1. I think I'm Just addicted to the whole process of buying/waiting/planning! I see the doll for sale, simply HAVING to have it, start deciding on wig/look, then practically sitting on the mat near the letter box lol.

Are you addicted to the whole process of buying/planning and waiting or do you have your grail?

    2. I have my 'grail' and my current grails are kind of impossible for me right now, but I do love to shop shop shop.
I actually bought my grail doll on a whim! Ooops!

I even have a folder in my subscriptions dedicated to sales that has so many threads in it. :sweat
I love shopping for the dollies more than I like shopping for myself...so yes, maybe it's an addiction. Hahaha...

    3. Do you! Wow lol
I'm just crazy about finding and obsessing over a sculpt. Oh and buying fabric! Haha

    4. When I first saw them, I was drawn to BJD's because of the level of customization and their beauty! I loved the fact I could change their hair and eyes!

    5. I think I'm addicted to buying wigs. I love them. And when I see one that 'is just right', I have to have it.

Now this might be ok, but I currently only have one bjd at home. I need help, seriously, I do.

    6. I rly like the planning part, but i am somewhat worried about the whole buying/waiting process.

Kinda feels like i am gambling, 'cause i cant be sure that the things i buy would fit my doll or if they would look good on her. (and the fact that i dont have the doll yet doesn't help either)
Also, i am not a big fan of paying a lot of money, and then waiting for months to get what i need.
It would be nice if i could just go to a store relatively nearby. (yeah, am old fashioned like that XD). Or if i could get my doll and stuff shortly after throwing my money at the screen XD

But otherwise, yeah. Can definetily see how buying doll stuff can become an addiction :)

    7. The buying process IS super addictive! Its all the excitement of discovering this lovely thing you MUST have, then the hemming and hawing over buying it especially if its limited, then finally buying it and the rush spending all that money and/or committing to that big layaway! Then comes the buying and planning of clothes and wigs and eyes (that despite having a hoard of, you never seem to have the right things)... And waiting for the high of getting that sweet sweet shipping notice. =w= Then the box shows up... and you now possess the thing that you've been anticipating and it goes from something you want, to something you have, and its suddenly far less exciting lol. Then you get the itch to start the process all over again. Its very easy to become addicted to this cycle...

    8. I think I'm more like addicted to window shopping...

I usually have no money for dolls xD; so it's just me looking at pretty pictures on flickr and etsy outfits etc, faving everything and buying nothing. And now that I do have some dolly dollars I am having trouble actually spending them, even though I have a mountain of a wishlist of dolls and accessories.

    9. I'm addicted to online shopping in general. Dolls do not help with this. I just really love getting packages in the mail!

    10. It's always nice to buy new things. And online shopping makes buying so easy and fast that it's hard not to get addicted. You see something, you like it and it's just a click away.
Personally, I absolutely love planning what outfits and wigs and eyes to get for my dolls, both old and new.

    11. At this point I have all the dolls I want to buy pretty much. There are one or two that I still have a yen for but those are hugely expensive dolls that I'll never end up buying. I do still need a better MSD boy head for one doll body I have but it's not something I have any particular plans for. If and when I see one I like and can afford I will buy it. I don't have a grail at this point. Not a realistic one anyhow. I think I'll always have a bit of a yen for Iple Luo but at $900 I'm not going there. I have to find a MSD boy head I can stand and grab a couple of WS bodies for floating heads that I have. After I get those likely I am done unless I decide to get a dark purple or RS green doll custom made for me. That's a vague possibility but it's a pretty remote one. I have 11 dolls in various sizes. I'm thinking that's plenty for me. I didn't plan on having that many. All together they probably cost me as much as a Luo but that's 11 dolls vs one. It's a good collection and I'm pretty happy with it as it stands.

    12. I hear ya on the love of online shopping! Getting a package in the mail makes me so happy and makes my day! I'll be window shopping for a while till I can get my first doll.
