1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

BJD Cafes in Korea, did you know they existed?

Apr 3, 2015

    1. I just found out about BJD cafes in Korea when I ran across a couple videos of Nine9 Style cafe and Bluefairy cafe in Hongdae, Seoul. This is so cool! You can get a cup of java while you're shopping for some clothes/accessories for your doll, or maybe even a new doll buddy to take home with you! They even have lights, props, and photo setups for your dolls that you take along with you. Would you go to a BJD cafe? I sure would!

    2. Wow...that is awesome! I would go.

    3. Apparently the BlueFairy cafe closed recently, what a shame! I'd definitely go to either, but I don't know if I'd be brave enough to bring my own doll though. I'd be too scared of drinks accidentally splashing everywhere.

    4. Aww man that sucks :( It looked really cool in the video! Was pretty empty though... what a shame!

    5. Too bad about the BlueFairy Cafe, but I would totally go to a BJD cafe whether in Korea or anywhere if there was one nearby.

    7. oh, i'm living in korea and almost every korean bjd owners know about bjd cafe. bluefairy cafe is actually, changed its name as "cafe Zephyros". same manager in the cafe and also you can order bluefairy dolls or stuffs in there. it's not operating by bluefairy-i think the previous manager in bluefairy cafe became the owenr of cafe-however, since bluefairy and the current owner of cafe Zephyros have been having somewhat close connections, it seems available to order bluefairy's products in cafe Zephyros. bluefairy is also describing cafe Zephyros as an "official dealer of bluefairy".

there are also a doll cafe called "Sadol and friends" which is operated by Sadol and located in a city named Busan-Seoul and Busan is almost the farest city in korea except for Jeju island or so.

    8. That sounds awesome. I wish there was a cafe like that around where I live.

    9. The cafes sound great!

There are some shops around who like to encourage doll-owners to meet up there (in L.A.). And meetups can always be arranged in certain cafes or tea shops (I've definitely gone to meetups like that before and they are lots of fun).

If there aren't places you know about nearby, then just find a nice place and organize a meetup! Don't just wait until someone else starts something up because they may never get around to doing it...!

    10. Interesting...

I'm not sure I'd go to one myself, but they sound like fun for people who are more socially inclined than I am.

    11. urgh I really wanted to go.... I had the rare opportunity to go to S.Korea earlier this year but we were staying in Myeongdong and only for 2 days. I didn't have enough time ><

    12. I heard about this somewhere on youtube. I think there a nine style cafe in korea too. I heard its not as lay back and chill as blue fairy though.

    13. I would love to open a BJD café here in Belgium but I'm afraid I'd have about zero customers. I would love to visit the current BJD cafés and enjoy some time there however. I think it would be wonderful to have a place where I can bring my doll without having to suffer from odd stares and such while being able to enjoy some nice beverages and snacks. It would be THE place to meet now that Dolliverse canceled its 2015 edition.

    14. That's adorable! We actually have a cafe with a similar concept in Texas. It's focused on Dungeons & Dragons and tabletop games, but it's still where they serve drinks and snacks, you can shop, and you can play!

    15. I would *love* to go to a place like this. Just the idea of being able to buy bjd things that you can see and touch before you buy them is amazing. And I love meeting other people who love dolls.

Why is everything like this that I would love to go to in Korea or Japan? :...( lol

    16. that sounds so cool! Where in Texas is this cafe? I'm in texas, but maybe not the correct city. Would make an interesting day trip!

    17. I would love to go to a place like this. It would be a perfect place for doll meets. Wish we had one here in Australia!

    18. I'm actually living in Korea for a short time right now, so I'm super-excited to visit all the BJD cafes! However, if anyone has more detailed info on the exact addresses of these cafes, ESPECIALLY Cafe Zephyros, I would looove to hear. I'm a huge fan of BlueFairy dolls, but all the info on the new cafe seems to be in Korean and Google Translate isn't making heads or tails of it. I didn't even know about the Sadol one in Busan! I'll definitely have to visit Busan now too, hahaha.

They also have quarterly 'Doll Free Markets', which I'm excited to be able to attend. Also, people online have posted reviews and blog posts about the BJD cafes, both BJD people and outsiders alike, so if you guys want to see more pics/read more, Google search should unearth more info! I unfortunately haven't seen anything for the new Cafe Zephyros though.

    19. @almyki

I'm fairly certain Zephyros is in the same location as Bluefairy was, this should be the address:

      Korean: 서울특별시 마포구 서교동 396-47

English Translation: Seoul, Mapo-gu Seogyodong 396-47

      Map to Bluefairy (Zephyros)

      Nine9 Style address:

Korean: 서울특별시 마포구 서교동 449-43 국일빌딩 301호

      English Translation: Seogyo-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul 449-43 zhou Bldg 301

There's also an alt address form for nine9 which is:

      Korean: 서울특별시 마포구 월드컵북로5길 22

English: Mapo-gu, Seoul World Cup Road 22 North Road 5

      map to Nine9 Style

      Hope this helps!
      :)
