1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

BJD in dollshouses?

Dec 22, 2007

    1. Which size bjd dolls would you recommend for 1/12th scale dollshouses? I have a couple of dollshouse projects still to do which will require occupants and I thought it would be great to have tinies in my thatched cottage

      Thanks for any advice :)

    2. Do you mean the normal scale play dollhouses? Would you like babies, or mature?

    3. Tinybear's Moona and Bracken were specifically designed for 1/12 scale furniture and they are little English Wood elves so a thatched cottage would be just their scene.

    4. For 1/12 scale dollhouses themselves, TinyBears Moona and Bracken work well, so do any of the Elfdoll Tinies, as well as the Lati whites, Naripons, any of the thin, slim bodied tinies, actually.
Many of the other small chunkier bodied tinies can work with dollhouse props and Re-ment, like RL Mondays Child, and Lati Yellow.
      Hope this helps some!

    5. I've got Elfdoll's Catsy and Lyn, and they are exactly the right size for 1:12 furniture.

    6. thanks guys :)

PocketFairy and Wishel...these arnt true 1/12 scale ...but they work

all of my tinys live in my Dollshouses ...I can combine both obsession with tiny dolls and bears LOL

    7. Thanks for all that info :)

Tinybear - your little elves are wonderful, I shall definitely keep them in mind, thanks :) Do you have any pics of your dollshouses with your tinies in them??

    8. imajica Thanks for that link :)

tinybear - do you have any plans for 'normal' bjd 12th scale people ie not elves? I've seen a few times on doll forums that people wish they could get more poseable 12th scale dolls, I'm sure there's a need for it

    9. For classic doll house dolls that are also bjd, check out Heidi Ott from Switzerland:

She makes men women and children. I don't think she counts, though, as a doll for DofA, though. But she has an old fashioned look with a newfangled body.

Other than that, I plan on creating an elfish "natural" habitat for my Adel when I get her (have to pay her off first, LOL)

    10. I think 5-inch will work with the most 1/12 furniture thought you may have trouble with chunkier 5-inch dolls. For fat babies go smaller than 5-inch. Slim 5.5-6 inch dolls like Elfdoll and Dollmore Banji (aka Elf Elly) can be a bit large in some dollhouse furniture because alot of 1/12 dollhouse furniture isn't really 1/12 at all. For example, a 1/12 adult bed should be 6.5-7 inches long but some are only 5 inches long. Ditto for other furniture pieces because a lot of it really isn't 1/12.

Also good are 1/10 pieces like the stuff from the normal size Fisher Price dollhouses. A lot of antique German dollhouse furniture is 1/8 to 1/10. I used to use it with 5-6 inch bisque head dolls.
