Bobobie and Resinsoul Discussion - Part 11!!

Heng is really good-looking - very different from the usual RS faces.

@Squishle - your Long looks great! It's a fantastic outfit - I admire people who can sew leather (or any leather-like fabric).

 

If I am not mistaken, the fabric looks like vinyl covered polyester I got a few years back from joann fabric. it was awesome for doll clothes because it looks like leather, but it handles like cotton and does not fray. I cannot find any more of that, sadly.
Squishle, your boy (and outfit) looks fantastic.

 

Thanks, @Fairy Milliner and @Uggst! @Uggst is right, though; his pants and jerkin are vinyl covered polyester, not real leather. It's a really nice fabric for doll-scale crafting since it's a lot thinner and more flexible than real leather, which works well with Long's overall long spindlyness. I love his body sculpt, and it gives him a very elfy silhouette, but clothing is a challenge for that boy.

It's sad to hear that Joann's might be phasing out that fabric, though. I'll have to look for it next time I visit my local store and stock up if they still have any. There are so many other projects I need it for...

What is the Resinsoul Mi body WRIST (not waist) size/circumference?

 

Is Rui a new 68cm girl at Resinsoul? I don't remember seeing her before. I think she's really pretty.

Only just one picture of her on the website though atm.

 

Yep, she's new. And I am in love. Why does Resinsoul have to release so many pretty new sculpts right now, though? My poor wallet can't handle it.

 

Rui is sooooo gorgeous. She has such a gentle look. I really want her now too. She's going on the list! She'd look really good with Heng as a couple too.

Good news: I sold a computer I don't use much so now I will get my Mu! I might even get over my anxiety and order him today.

Edit: I did it! He's ordered and paid for! Now I just need to wait for a little while. I'm so excited!

Anyone know if the Ling head would fit on a shorter body (preferably the 58cm body)?

 

I've been thinking...Rui would also make a very handsome boy. I hope someone orders her and we start getting owner pics! I could say that of any of the new sculpts this year though haha.

Would somebody be able to confirm/deny the neck circumference of the Mu body? RS says it's 9cm. I've recently purchased a head (BiDoll Cesium) that cries out for the Mu body but the neck hole of the head is quite large and a 10cm neck is more in keeping with that. The head itself is on the smaller side of your typical SD being 7.75"/20cm in circumference.

I did some head swapping today and there is a serious amount of gaping on a 9cm neck but the overall proportions were good especially with the skinnier bodies. I really would like him to be on the Mu body but that neck discrepancy might kill the idea. Unless RS was even more awesome than I already know them to be and would create a custom thicker neck.... I know they've done custom 4-armed dolls so... maybe?

 

@Iron_Dog A question I can actually answer! I just measured, and the neck is almost exactly 9 cm. I loooove the Mu body. And the Mu head too, but the body is wonderful. Good luck in asking RS if you decide on going through custom route!

 

@Thymeseer Thank you for double checking the measurement for me. I was pretty sure it would be accurate but it doesn't hurt to get confirmation.

I have a Yao head on a Ming body in dark tan and I love how they did the body. When I saw this head, I just knew he needed to have one of the larger hooved bodies RS does. The Mu head is very nice and his ears slay me because they're awesome.

I'd have to go custom (at least a little) with the body to resin match to the head so what's one more custom item, right? Apparently the head is close to Dollshe Fresh (so I've been told; my Dollshe boys are oriental and espresso ebony so not a match), so its quite pale, heavily leaning to white. But! it's not the paper white of a brand new RS doll nor the slightly mellowed white of the Bao I have (he's 8 years old but spends 99% of his time in his box so mellowing is minimal and due to age only). It's close to the mellowed white but that doesn't help with a new body purchase so custom colour ahoy!
