1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Busts!!

Dec 16, 2021

    1. No, not cleavage, chests, bosoms, or whatever family-friendly term you'd prefer. :XD:

Busts, on which to display heads. Excuse me, if this topic has been posted before, but I'm late coming to the novelty of a resin bust on which you can put your floating head(s). And I want to enthuse about how much I love them.

They are more than a fun solution to a floating head that would otherwise sit in a box or some tissue-paper nest. They allow those who cannot afford, do not want, cannot find the space for a full hulking doll body. They're a novel option to shell characters that are strongly desired, but there is neither the time nor funds to realise fully. They can, also, be an artist's or crafter's tool. Sit a head on there, stabilise the base so it doesn't topple, and work away at a wig or accessory. Depending on the bust design, it might even be a more ergonomic means of holding a head for a face-up.

I just love them! I need more, but I don't tend to see many out there. So, which companies offer (or have offered, for marketplace hunters) busts for heads? I know of Granado; I have theirs in tan with the Pluto head. And I've seen a couple of others, but I don't recall company names to a lot of them.

    6. MUSEN makes a bust stand for two heads, here.

Edit: almost forgot, but Studio Naiko makes some too.

    7. I just love the idea of them and I really need to acquire some of them for the floating heads I do have but haven't got plans for. I just couldn't let them go; they're rare or pretty ones. With bust stands, I could be displaying those beauties! (good thing I have heavily UV blocking windows)

    8. I have a standard male SDF one from Luts that was already mentioned and a 1/3 male one from Nakana Doll that’s a lot fancier.

    9. Crobi also sells busts, white and normal skin. I was wondering the usefulness of such things, and what you said makes sense. Busts are more versatile than I had realized.

    10. BeBell has a male and female bust for 60cm dolls. I have the female one, and while they are very basic with no real detail, I use it for doing faceups and it's been great for that!
