It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Clothing for DIM Sweet?

Mar 7, 2008

    1. Does anyone know of clothes that will fit nicely on a DIM Sweet body? Dresses, pants, shirts, anything. I'm just having trouble finding clothes. I'm also trying to figure out which shoes would fit (3.3cm I think).

Right now I have Lyla (Leisha) in a Sugar Mag Yo-SD outfit, but the hoodie, while cute, is too big on her and the pants are much too long. I had to cuff the ends of both. So I know that Yo outfits are too big. (Or rather, most of them are. Some may be too big but still wearable)

[Sorry if there's been a topic about this before, but I looked and couldn't find one. ^-^;]

    2. Volks Yo-SD and Bambicrony clothes are hit-and-miss because the Sweets are overall smaller. I haven't found any commercial non-BJD-clothes that fit either; closest is a couple random 1:6 scale action figure clothes that sort of fit. I do periodically have a few premade clothing items for Sweets (link in sig) as well as taking commissions. I'll be offering simple shoes and slippers for this size too.

The only shoes I found to fit so far are the YoSD rainboots, and even then they need socks to stay on. Most Yo/Bambi shoes are way too loose and fall right off. If you stuff the toe some styles with stay on, but they tend to look ginormous. I actually got a pair of Ixtee boots that fit Leisha with no or super-thin socks; they just don't lace up quite as tight as they should because they're meant for Blythe dolls. Ixtee sells on ebay and at some doll shows.

    3. Niftyness, I'll keep a lookout for your clothing/shoes.

Heh, I noticed the hugeness of Yo shoes on Leisha when I tried a pair of my friends boots on her and they fell right off. The Ixtee boots are adorable! Do you possibly know the internal measurement?

    4. I don't. : ( They're too small to get any kind of measuring thingy in there.

    5. That made me imagine a little measuring tape fairy fluttering around tiny shoes and leaving the sizes written on a piece of paper. Go figure.

I just checked out the Ixtee ebay store, and I must say that all the shoes are lovely. If you don't mind my asking, are the ones in your picture gothic Martin boots?

    6. These dolls will fit just about any 37mm shoes, which are available in lots of doll sites. They will fit in some Boneka clothes for 8 1/2" to 9" dolls, and some Ginny outfits. It's hard to tell which Ginny clothes will fit -- there are a couple of different sizes of the dolls, and some of the clothes are just bigger. Below knee length dresses will usually fit.
A few Riley outfits will fit -- some people just make them large, but again, it's hard to tell which.

    7. I've noticed quite a few 37mm shoes, though most of them looked a bit too wide. I'm thinking of getting a couple of pairs from different makers and seeing if any will work.
Boneka looks promising, though sadly I can't find any sellers in my area. I'll try to find an online retailer.

I've never heard of Ginny or Riley, are they vinyl dolls?

    8. Yes they are and they are great resources to harvest clothes. You can find them easily on eBay as well. I spend a lot of time at the local doll shop with my tinies looking for other sources of clothing and shoes for them with good results.

    9. That sounds wonderful! And I like the concept of harvesting doll clothes, it's a nice mental image. eBay has always seemed a bit daunting, but now I know what to look out for as I scavenge through doll shops. ^-^

    10. I love these little DIM faces, was seriously thinking of buying one, but in almost all owners pictures the little one is never standing on their own. Can this doll stand and pose? I had a Marigold at one time and the body was seriously wonky, but I thought DIM improved on it?

She stands on her own...just prefers to sit

    12. bjdconfused, your Leisha is absolutely adorable. And those shoes are too cute!

My girl stands fairly well (a pair of flat bottom shoes will probably help her stability) and she poses adorably. Though, she doesn't seem to like to have her legs straight for too long. They tend to randomly bend while I'm posing her, which may be because her stringing is too loose/too tight or I need to suede her knees, or something like that, but I'm still too much of a newbie to know exactly what's going on with her.

    13. Thanks! I think she is beautiful but am just not bonding. I LOVE her hands...so delicate. I'll probably be selling her soon ;)

    14. Hot-glue sueding the joints can help these little ones. : ) Riley is made by (Helen) Kish, and Ginny mostly by Vogue. None of the Ginny clothes I tried fit at all, whether the vintage, the Lesney "skinny-ginny" or the newer stuff. Maybe the open pinafore styles would work.
Liesl could stand right out of the box
      [IMG]
And even easier once I tightened the stringing and hot-glued down her ankle joints.

    15. I think I'm going to tighten her stringing and see if that'll help, but I'm still too scared of destroying her with hot glue. ^-^;
My mom kindly offered up her scrap fabric box to me, so I'm going to experiment with hand sewing her some clothes.

    16. Bumping this up since I am looking for clothing, shoes and wigs for my Little Leisha now!
