It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Delf Yder pronunciation? o_o

Dec 31, 2006

    1. Sorry if this is a stupid thread XD;;; Feel free to delete.

      BUT, Ive been wondering... how on earth do you pronounce Yder? I've been saying yeh-der, but is it like... ee-der or something? Or am I way off?

      XD;

    2. hmm I don't think its stupid, I have a Yder and I'm not totally sure how to say it either >.>;

      (btw the hat your doll is wearing in your signature owns :lol: )

    3. i've heard that it's pronouced "eye-der" but i udnno....that's what some thread on here said it was pronounced like...lmao I just say yder like the 'y' sound in 'you" and der. It's kinda wierd....

    4. I always pronounced it, "yih-der" something like that anyway, like just the 'y' sound and then 'der'? XD I know I read in a pronunciation thread once that Yder was like a word in another language, but I forget how it was pronounced! @__@;;

    5. haha thanks Alkalyne XD

      I just say the YEH sound and then DER too XD

    6. I say it like DawnDusk does as well.

    7. I say it YIH (rhymes with why) der. Now that I look at it, that doesn't make much sense at all. XD

    8. umm confusing !
      i say it as : E-der (eee-dur)

    9. Personally, I do it eee-der too.
      3: why, oh why, do they give these dolls such confusing names? XD

    10. I say it like "Y (the actual NAME of the letter, kinda sounds like "why") - der"

      Ekekeke!! I'm so wrong but I love how it sounds XD

    11. there was a thread on how to pronounce delf names ahwhile back, the technical korean way is the ' eee-der '

      i just say it like the ' y-der ' with the why sound and all u_u'''

    12. I use a very Western pronunciation... YAE-der

    13. OMG THANKYOU FOR THIS THREAD!! xDD

      I've been thinking about this too. I thought I was the only one who had no idea how to say it! xD At the moment I call him like maggot and rapearainbow: "ee-der" with the stress on the "ee".

    14. I vary between "ih- der (like in "it") and "Eye"-der... O.o Because in evey other case I've come across in which a word starts with "y" it's usually pronunced as an "I"-- unless it is a variant spelling of a word usually spelled with a "J" as in Yasmine (var. Jasmine) and Jehovah (often pronounced Yehovah).
      But that's using latin root (letter alphbets) phonetics. I have no idea when it comes to symbol alphbet phonetics. :sweat:

    15. I say it 'Yeee-dur'

      >_>

      Seeing it spelt like that makes me feel silly... XD

    16. I just checked and saw that Yder is also a dutch word, Yder would be pronounced as "'I' der" which sounds a whole lot better to me than my original 'yehder' I also searched and read Yder was a Celtic hero...

    17. I follow the pronunciation they have on their Japanese site.

      Yder イダー (I Daa) sound like "ee-dar".

    18. I say yih-dur (yih as in.. yip yip yip? the sound chihuahua makes xD?)

      ... because... I like to ^^

    19. i say it like "yoh-der"
      which really makes no sense. I think I call him that because his name reminds me of "Yoda"
