Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Do any of you ever feel this way about getting stuff for your dolls?

Feb 3, 2013

    1. I am getting 2 dolls. Whenever I want to go buy something for one of them, Im like "oh wait, but then Kotelet should have one too..." so I just want to buy 2 of the same prop @_@

Do you guys do that too? I feel like it could get kind of hectic if i had nine or more dolls...

    2. Sometimes.

I got 3 Mini Lalaloopsy dolls for Christmas so that my tinies could have dolls of their own. I didn't get one for each of my tinies, but I got enough that I could have a few of them playing together for a picture.

    3. I only have one doll at the moment but lately I've been finding myself thinking that if I'm getting my girl something I should get another for her twin even though she won't be coming home for a loooooooooooong time (or my friend's incoming doll)

    4. Not usually. I don't think I've come across any props or things lately that both my dolls could use. They're different sizes and they have very different styles. I also really can't justify spending money for two of the same thing... I just think of all the other goodies it could be used to buy.

    5. I only have one doll but i don't think i could see myself buying two of the same item. Maybe if it was cheep or they were twins. But i would rather have them share.

    6. I feel more like "Oh this doll would look good together with my doll, must get it." Then I see another doll that look really similar to my doll as if they were siblings so I wanted to get that one too and then I'm like "Oh, if I get that doll, I'll have to find him a pair too"
And it keeps going on and on like that. I kept wanting to pair my every dolls. If I get the 3rd one, I must have the 4th.... orz

    7. Not really. ^^ My dolls don't have much in the way of props/possessions. Lorina's got a doll, Mariana's got a plushie, and that's about it~!

    8. I know I won't be able to do that. At this time I'm not into purchasing props, etc., but I do want my girls to have good looking clothing.

    9. I have too many to buy them each the same prop. Luckily, my boys all tend to have different tastes/hobbies/etc. so it's easy to get away with buying one of them a prop and not the others.

    10. not even necessarily props! If i think Im buying too much stuff like clothing too for just one doll, I'll say to myself that the other one won't think it's fair...
I have to remind myself they're not really going to mind it! ^ ^
But i like your thinking! I'll think of that next time when Im buying things- just buy one and save up for other things!

    11. I'm not huge on props, and I only have the one doll (not yet arrived, though)!
If I had two, they'd probably share clothes, but I couldn't justify buying two of the same thing.

    12. Only with the twins and then I try and see if it comes in a different color. Dolls don't care if you love one more than the other only you do. I have favorites who have been out and about and many others who have no idea there is a world outside of my room.

    13. I feel that way about sewing. I've been waiting for my second doll (IH Eva) for almost 3 months, and she's the same size as my first (IH Stella), so I started preparing clothes for Eva using Stella as model. I kept thinking how it's not fair that she won't be keeping any of the new things I made, until I reminded myself of the stack of clothes she's got already :sweat
She's also got a bed/couch made from her box (using this tutorial) and I caught myself thinking how it's not fair that she gets a bed and no one else will because I don't have enough space for a full SD sized dollhouse ... but hey, it's the bed not her bed, she just got the benefits of being the first.
I think of props as photostory props, not property of a single doll, so whatever I get, they all get to use in turn. The only things I'll get more than one of are dishes and mugs and things, because I'd need more than one set for photos.

    14. I'm still waiting on my first doll to arrive but I do know which one I'm getting next and I find myself looking at things thinking, "well... they both will need pretty things, should I buy for them both? no... I should wait... no, I should buy them now so they have pretty thing to come home too," I wouldn't buy two of the exact same thing but I would get them both something haha

~Edit: that bed tutorial is great! you recycle the box and get a nice bed for your doll~

    15. hmmmm I can understand the idea, but no i do not feel this way.
My dolls all have such different backstories that getting 2 of them the same items would never fit their worlds. :)

    16. Haha, nope! All of my dolls are sort of different sizes (besides my two cheshires), so sharing clothing wouldn't really be feasible, unless the same outfit came in two sizes but with the vastly different persona's, I don't think that would work very well. And as far as props are concerned, sharing is caring. Especially for my wallet. :)

    17. not really. if it is just a particular "prop" then they can a;; share. they are all different characters from different times anyway. so i rarely get the same thing for more than one. even though i've admitted to buying stuff for dolls i haven't even ordered yet lol

    18. Yes and no. I have six girls currently with three more eventually on the way, so this isn't practical. I may want to get similar items for similar personality dolls, but the more I get to know their personalities, the more their individual preferences come out and I only get them each something that suits them. That's also why my similarly sized girls don't share clothes- they like to wear diferent things. I would probably only buy multiples of things that they all use, like dishes, or maybe for my twins, although they have their diferences as well.

    19. Oh i see. Maybe I feel like that because the two of them are kind of from the same world, even though they're different personalities.

    20. It is sort of the same as having children. When my kids were small I could not buy something for one without getting for all three. To me its the same with my other "children". I feel guilty if I make or buy something for one and not the others. Sometimes though I just have to say it'll be your turn next time!
