1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you have trouble sleeping from being too excited in this hobby?

Jun 25, 2015

    1. i am having trouble sleeping because i am so excited that my doll is on her way and should be here soon, does anyone else get like this when waiting for a doll, just ordering a doll or just receiving one?

      :aheartbea:love:dance:aheartbea

    2. First of all, congrats!!

Oh yes! I always get too excited when I order a doll. I think the last time I was too happy I couldn't sleep was when I ordered Iplehouse Milly ^^ the excitement wears off while waiting, it is only when I click "check out" that I feel that way. Then, the feeling comes back when I receive a tracking number =D

    3. I don't have trouble sleeping but my sleep schedule has altered slightly since starting in the hobby.
I find myself staying up later in order to compensate for time differences in Asia :sweat

    4. Congrats on getting your doll dear! :)

You're definitely not alone, I get very excited me as well when I had my mnf Celine shipped out from Fairyland, I was so excited! I remember i couldn't get any good sleep because of how happy that I was! :dance

    5. Hey congrats on your doll!

And yes, BJDs absolutely do keep me awake at night. In order to sleep I need to clear my mind and become a crêpe, but when I start thinking about plans of dolls to buy and customize I sometimes get so excited and my heart starts racing! And I end up browsing my phone to look for wigs and clothing xD

    6. Of course! There's nothing like knowing something you've waited for months for is coming home the next day to bring on the jitters. XD

    7. Congratulations on your incoming doll! :)
Trouble sleeping, no--my youngest keeps me too busy for that ;) But, in every other respect, I am like a kid on Christmas Eve. The doll is constantly on my mind--where it is, whether there's been some mistake with the tracking, and I fuss at every delay, stare out the window, check the mailbox every morning and night for a delivery notice, and wonder why the doll isn't there three days after it's been shipped (I know, ridiculous ><) but when the doll finally comes, it seems surreal,--like i can't believe it's finally here, and all the waiting has paid off. It's really quite a wonderful experience, from the time I order/start layaway, to the time it arrives :)

    8. It's started to wear off after my order, but I definitely had this happen. But like Yumi~ said, it'll definitely come back full force once I get a tracking number.

    9. Oh, gods, yes. I got the status change to shipping on Friday, figured out what KoreanAir flight she was on, figured out what time the plane got to O'Hare, was terrified the plane would crash with my doll on it. ( Oddly, I am a not afraid of flying myself) Got the shipping notice on Monday, had my room mate pick the package up the instant the Post Office opened Tuesday, got home from work on Tuesday evening and filmed the box opening. Woohoooo! My Iplehouse Leona is GORGEOUS! and I haven't slept in days!

I thought I would crash and burn last night, but NO! Visions of doll dresses danced in my head, and I haven't had more than 3 hours of sleep a night since last Thursday! Someone gets a little TOO excited about new dollies!

    10. Well, for me, I had some confusion regarding the shipping. The company had a really bad translation email and said that the doll had been shipped but it was actually delivered that day haha. I didn't expect her to be here so soon :D

    11. It happens when I need to decide between several dolls. That's the worst because I want them all but can only choose one (especially if they all happen to fall into that limited type category). It's a choice of which to admire from afar than to bring home. But once I actually buy the doll it tends to fall off the anti-sleep radar.

    12. The first time I ordered a doll, I was like that for the first few weeks. Then I was able to get it off my mind because I still had work and other things I needed to have on my mind. Once I got the shipping notice, I got excited again and it was hard to sleep those long three days before he arrived.

    13. I also got that feeling when I ordered my first dollie.
I even had a couple of nightmares while waiting (about receiving the wrong package or a broken doll... everything very scary >.<).

    14. Definitely!
Usually the worst nights are the ones when I am not yet purchased anything but thinking of doing so and then all my aims to sleep turns into buzzing mind and restless dreams where I am trying to decide whether to order or not. Once I have made my decision and clicked the "pay" -button, the stress relieves, I crash and sleep like a baby (well most of the cases anyway). But I get excited from other things too: creating background stories for my dolls, designing a new outfit or prop, sewing, crafting, etc. I am that person who tends to go from zero to hundred in a heartbeat and when the inspiration hits, I just have to follow it and nothing can´t come on it`s way. ;)

    15. im not the only one who pass this hahaha, every time i want a buy a new one or when i waiting cant sleep at all, but when my baby comes i sleep like a baby, this hobby can be very stressfull

    16. I had been pretty good about being low-key excited. Even when my DC Elizabeth first arrived, I took excited pictures, but otherwise didn't do much with her, as I had other obligations going on.
Now that all of those are cleared, I turned to my year-old untouched DoA account, and said goodbye to sleep :sweat!

I've been on way through the night, obsessively researching ways to customize my doll and get EVERYTHING right. I've decided to take on a LOT on my plate, all due to my excited insomniac research: Going to dye my doll to a custom color, going to modify her neck, going to make my own wig, and not to mention do her faceup! So yes, I've gotten so obsessed the last few days that I made myself stay away from the computer to get some sleep time x'D

    17. Congrats and hope your doll arrives soon jess.oates! As for excitement, yes, I do have trouble sleeping. Like so many others I'm usually too excited to sleep when I know a doll is on it's way home. I wake up in the middle of the night just to check the tracking sometimes!

    18. Not usually from excitement, rather from anxiety of how I'm going to get a limited time pre-order or LE doll. Once I'm able to get it, then I CAN sleep!

    19. Although I'm very obsessed with my dolls ,this hobby actually helps me to fall asleep because when I go to bed for the night ,I have a habit of creating things for my dolls in my mind (such as clothes, accessories, wigs, etc .) and in the morning all I have to do is make some sketches for my future projects :lol:The only nights I would struggle with my sleep would be after placing an order for the doll*_*

    20. It only keeps me awake when the tracking says the doll is at my local post office and I know it will be here in the morning.

However, when I have ordered a doll I think about it all day long and have trouble concentrating on other things. I keep looking at photos of the doll and planning the things I need to buy for it.

I get my paycheck in 2 days and I will be sending the balance for a doll I am buying from the Marketplace here. My doll, a DD Misora, will be shipped as soon as I make the payment, so I am getting excited. I already bought her wig, outfit and shoes. So I am ready for her.
