It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do you interact with your dolls on a daily basis?

Jul 24, 2013

    1. Hi all!

Forgive me if there is already a thread like this, and please delete if there is... but I didn't find one on the search.

Do you interact with your dolls on a daily basis, and if not do you feel guilty for not spending some time with them? :)

    2. I interact with my dolls every day - I'm currently sitting in a lecture at Uni, and one of my Pukifee's is sitting next to my laptop watching me type this! (Before anyone worries, it's a 3 hour lecture, we have a 20min break in the middle!)

But generally I interact with my dolls every day - even if I am really busy at home, sometime I walk into my sewing room to get something, and I'll look over at my doll shelves and say something like "I'm sorry I'm really busy today, we'll do something tomorrow!" or stuff like that. If I'm really stressed, I'll make time to see them and interact with them, because they relax me.

I do feel a little guilty if I really can't spend lots of time with them over a long period of time, like Uni exams or if I've got an assignment. Usually I'll make time for when I'm not busy to spend lots of time with them, to 'make up for it' haha

    3. Not everyday, since I'm busy during the week, my BJD time is mainly on the weekends or whenever orders show up! That always puts me in the mood, I want to try out my new things.

    4. No, I'm too busy to do so everyday. But I do feel guilty and sometimes if it's been awhile I'll just dress her up to hang out and watch a movie with me. And yes, sometimes I do apologize.....

    5. I interact with some part of my collection pretty much every day, rather it's to change an outfit or alter someone's pose or to fix a wig... but having the number of dolls that I do, I don't mess with every single one of them individually every day.

Today, for instance, I tried a new wig on Shen, I swapped Cardinal into a different outfit, and I rearranged the way I have Oracle, Mender, Poet and Shaper posed together on their shelf in the upstairs cabinet. Yesterday, I changed the outfits on my MiniFees. Tomorrow I'm probably going to take Harumatsu, Tien Jen and Chidori apart for cleaning and restringing.

I don't have any guilt whatsoever about not touching every doll every day... I see these guys as interesting toys, not as pets or as substitute children, so I don't believe that they really require my constant attention.

    6. I don't get to everyday, no, but I wish I could! I do all the things I couldn't get done during the week because of work on the weekends, so I can go weeks without paying much attention to them >.< I feel guilty, yes, but I do what I can to make "doll time". Sometimes I just have to slow down and take time for myself and my dolls : ) They help me to feel less-stressed and relaxed^^

    7. I carry my pukifee in an eyeglasses case in my purse, so I almost always take her out and hold her or pose her, wherever I am. I have some anxiety issues, and I carry a few things in my bag specifically for that (Bach Rescue Remedy, pills, etc.) and its comforting to have Lora on hand, in case of emergency. Lol. Sadly, my other girl doesn't fit in my purse, so she stays at home most of the time. I tend to carry her from room to room with me if I'm feeling lonely, and she watches me while I work on sewing, writing, etc.

I spend a lot of time with my dolls around me, but sometimes I do feel guilty about not doing much with them, like photoshoots or posing/re-dressing them like I imagined I would before I got them. Sometimes I feel like a "lazy" doll owner, like I don't use my dolls to their fullest potential. But I do enjoy them greatly, so normally I don't worry about it.

    8. I only have time for them on weekends, but to me, that's a good thing, because they can be left by themselves without me worrying too much. ^^ I already have pets to tend to and real life things to do so I actually find it relaxing when I have time to play with them. ^_^

    9. I don't play with mine every day but I play with them a lot. Always changing something or swapping a wig or snapping a couple pics.

    10. No.

But I do dolly-related things. I had a doll with me for a meetup a few days ago and I've been uploading and fixing photos of him and posted some today.

I'm on DoA and other doll sites just about every day.

I do more of that than interact with my dolls. I only do doll stuff when I'm doing a faceup or going to a meetup or taking photos... and that happens only every few weeks or every few months, and I have so many dolls that sometimes it can be a year before I interact with some dolls. It's sad, I know, but I still love them even if I don't interact with them often.

    11. i wouldn't say i interact with my boy everyday cuz there are days where im very busy, but i interact with him quite alot just not everyday >__< smetime if im too busy and feel guilty for ignoring him, i usually plop him on the side of my bed and we'll watch shows like supernatural and criminal minds thn ill just drift off to sleep with him by my side. on another note, i think my boy likes hannibal lolol i feel like he is angry when i watch hannibl without him lolol *sweat drop*

    12. My boys are all in a cabinet in my bedroom and they are the first thing I look at most days. Even if I don't get them out I always look and fiddle a bit with their hair. I could not ever store them away as I like seeing them everyday:)

    13. I feel really guilty if I don't spend time with them, on busy school days I don't have the time to play with them so I'll usually bring them down to sit with my while I do my work :)

    14. I mostly interact with Jeff, my JID Kyle. All the others sit on a desk but he sits on my computer chair coz I don't have room for him anywhere else.

    15. No, I don't. I also do not feel guilty because they're dolls. They exist solely to please and amuse me, and if that means I ignore them while I don't feel like messing with them, so be it. Seriously, they have no needs. They're objects.

    16. I'm new, and my doll is coming soon! :)
I promised myself to play with my doll everyday, but I'm worried I'll just leave her around after a few months.

I wonder if there is any form of motivation one can have to play with your doll everyday? Would making a blog / photo-a-day help ?

    17. Yes, there is some sort of interaction. If I can't do more intensive things with them, it may just be a pat on the head and a "hello" as I walk past, or a little pinky hug for each of them right before bed (since they live in a cabinet by my bed). I try to acknowledge them every day, even with a simple "hello" or "I'll be back soon to play with you."

    18. I wish I had more time but I am super busy, and honestly I'm lucky if I get an hour or so to play with them on the weekend! But when I do get to take them out with my friends a couple times a month I take lots of pictures, and sometimes work on those during the week. On weekdays though I'm doing good to swap a wig. But I do at least look at my dolls every day and it makes me happy^^

    19. Not really. :) I sometimes put a doll to sit next to me at the computer, so I can admire it, but mostly they just sit unless there is a meet-up or I'm visiting a dollie friend.

    20. This place seriously needs like buttons. The only interaction I have with them everyday is that I see them. They're displayed in my bedroom. I don't feel bad about not being hands on everyday because that's not how I enjoy them.
