It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Do your dolls ever sabotage you?

Aug 19, 2024

    1. I sat down at my desk to do some crafts today with one of my dolls on the desk, too. I was getting quite annoyed at how I couldn't see the fiddly thing I was doing properly only to realise I had sat my doll right in front of the desk light :doh Obviously I wasn't working on their wig so maybe it was revenge, I don't know

Do your dolls ever end up (accidentally) sabotaging you?

    2. I had to suede and wire an incredibly poorly engineered doll to sit properly. It was very deeply frustrating. In revenge—don’t ask me how—I sustained a glue gun burn to the armpit. I accidentally leaned forward over the glue gun, and got the tip of the gun directly in my armpit. I guess she was happy splayed out and didn’t want to be made to sit properly!!

    3. Oh yes - what loves each other teases each other ;-) Most of the time they have a mind of their own during a photo shoot and would rather play or flatten flowers.
My Centaur likes to kick me with her hooves - ouch.
And what's really annoying is that they pull their feet away when I'm carefully tying the laces of their shoes.
But that is exactly the passion of this hobby <3

    4. While having a conversation with another hobbiest about how solid she stands. . . She proceeds to buckle and fall over.

    5. I mean, they sabotage my finances by demanding styles that I own nothing for. They've stolen my free time, my attention... I adore my babies but they be expensive.

    6. Well, they haven’t sabotaged me but… There was a time I was outside with one and a kid on a bike passing must of been spooked and completely wiped out ^^;

    7. They sabotage my wallet sometimes (though I wonder if they could talk, would they tell me that they would rather not have so many clothes/wigs/eyes?) and definitely not wanting to stand (or sit) and the occasional head fling when I try to put on wigs. Also the throwing of magnet hands hahaha

    8. I have a pair of Volks solid torso girls I call the deadly headbutt sisters...a lot of resin means a big ouch

    9. Ezra made me punch myself in the eye the other day. I had his head off for changing him, and when I was pulling the s-hook up with a crochet hook, it slipped and I punched myself. I was a little shocked, Ezra's usually a sweetheart!

Amir made me bleed once when he pinched the hell out of me for no damn reason.

Jarppi secretly stole my magnets! I dropped a couple and swore they disappeared, I looked everywhere they could have fallen and there was no trace of them. A couple of weeks later, I found them stuck to the inside of his boot. (His body is Fairyland, they have magnetic feet.)

Twyla made me go wayyyy over budget with her. I tried to shell her for years, but nothing was quite right. She needed to be Iplehouse Lahela in brown skin from the start, but I just could not justify that price tag. So I tried Impldoll and I knew it was wrong from the moment I opened her box. She is now a Lahela. There was just no other option. No regrets! But damn, girl, $900?? :chomp:

    10. Yeah, there's this one doll I want to buy a lot of clothes for.

    11. My whole crew sabotages me: they leave their clothes all over my home. Now I'm pretty tidy and never leave my own clothes lying around, but the dolls? I'm constantly picking up after them. At one point I did a pickup round, and found clothes and accessories in five different places around my apartment unit. Seriously, I sometimes feel like throwing up my hands: You guys are inanimate and can't even dress yourselves, how do you manage to leave your stuff everywhere????

    12. Wow, they really do. From falling face to the floor right when I have finished posing them and I am reaching for the camera to sabotaging my wallet. I'm kinda relief I'm not the only one to suffer this xD
The worst story I've got about this was an old MSD body I had which torso that kept snapping back when I tried to pose it and it would pinch my fingers and it hurt a lot (>.<).

    13. Don't ask me how because she came strung with exact same string but for the life of me I can't get my Spiritdoll back together using it. My hand swelling went down and I thought I'd give it a shot. An hour later I was still swearing and she wasn't strung. I need to buy more cord and try again because she is just NOT cooperating!

    14. There are those times I have them all posed perfectly for the picture, I go to check the line up of the camera, this shot is going to be so great!

      Then...

One dolls buckles and its a domino effect!

My hands grab wildly at my favourites and the more expensive ones as the begin their tumble and I hope the others slide gently down the photography canvas.

They don't have far to fall and thankfully have not broken, but oh, my nerves!!

I really think they do it for fun just to watch me panic.

      :3nodding:

    15. They sabotage my efforts to photograph them in a realistic setting. I set up the scene for the photo shoot, they are sitting quite far from something, but the moment I lower my face to the camera, they kick the table and it falls over. Or they deliberately turn the necklace. Never ending story...

    16. Their existence sabotages my wallet, and I can't even be mad since they're so beautiful ;^^

    17. One of the first things I did with my first/only current doll was get the crap pinched out of my hand by her knee...

I've since learned my lesson. (Thankfully):XD:
