1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Doll bedrooms

Nov 7, 2013

    1. I'm not sure if any thread like this exists but I haven't found one if there is. But I apologize if there is one and my silly self missed it.

Am I the only one who is setting up like a whole bedroom for my doll? I've bought a ton of stuff to make it her own little space. I got some really soft material for the carpet, and I got her a legit doll bed (gotta love Ikea), and a bunch of other stuff that I'm slowly working on so she has a place of her own once she's here! Share pictures if you have any!! I'll post pictures as I put it all together and get the room done.

I'm going the extra mile for her because I think she'll end up being my only doll. Either for good or for a very very long time. But I'd be ok with having just her honestly ^.^ :aheartbea

    2. Not yet, but recently I've been planning to make a photo set for my Sabik. It's not quite the same thing, but there's not really room where I live to set him up a permanent room and well... with an 80cm it's a lot of room! I know other people have though and they always turn out so cute!

    3. i've seen several bedrooms for dolls, but mostly they're posted in the "dollhouse" themed threads :) i'm working on building beds for my dolls, but i gotta wait for some plywood when i can afford it to finish the three i'm doing (one for 70cm boy and his gf, one crib, and a daybed for a mini). so in the meantime i have a dining room (that needs 3 more chairs XD), and a set of furniture for a sunroom. the sunroom just needs a few more things to be a complete set (like walls.... it needs walls >w< lol)

    4. Im actually going to be making a bean bag chair for my Tatiana. It's super simple, I found the tutorial on youtube! This is the bed I got: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10101664/

It's actually pretty big lol I know it would be but its really nice! I'm thinking of staining it because I'm a fan of darker woods, and my actual bed and my bookcase has dark wood. I bought some fabric to make pillows and a cover for her. Maybe I'll open a little shop on etsy it all turns out well hehe :fangirl:

    5. oooo that would be fun ^^ i'd buy a bed but i cant find any big enough for my big guy XD i'd love to see what you make for her :)

    6. I hurt my back a few days ago at a convention so I haven't been very productive lol. But it's slooooowly getting better. So once i get back from my bf's I'll start sewing the bed sheets and what not! I'm sure the whole time I'm there I'll be searching for stuff for my doll!

    7. ItsKiraDoll, I think it's very common for doll collectors to create rooms, if not houses, for their dolls. I'd like to create a tree house for my PukiPuki, just not sure where to start. Having a "set" so to say, makes pictures and scene's much more believable.

    8. I have a dollie size 4 poster bed I her room so ur not the only one :):):):)

    9. @Stardustboy I figured most bjd owners did, I've seen a few on youtube videos I've been watching over and over (...for the past 4 years...) I just like to see/hear how others did their dolls rooms :P

@Chloeeeeee:) I think I missed an e lol!! Do you have a picture of the bed?

    10. Mine do! I'm at work and can't take a pic atm, but here's Parker's room. He's a Directioner, and even has 1D pillows, dolls, posters and books!

    11. Awww that's so cute! And he's such a cutie himself!

    12. I have setups for all my dolls! I wouldnt call them all bedrooms, but theyre all nicely set up with a display :)

    13. I'm slowly but surely starting to work on a bedroom for my doll :) I'll probably be making most of the furniture. I think I'll set it up so it can house two dolls though, I don't really have enough room in my bedroom to make two separate rooms for when I get another doll >.<

    14. Im trying to make it big enough for two in case I get another one with my taxes or something. But the one I want is a bigger doll so idk if she'll fit unless she's sitting lololol

    15. It's something that I really want to do, but I need to find the space to do it.
I've been peeking into secondhand stores every now and then checking to see if there's a decently sized shelf or even full bookshelf maybe, but haven't found the perfect one yet.
I love looking at rooms for dolls, they always look so cute and cozy!

    16. Whimsu, have you tried Ikea?

    17. Here are step dioramas I've done for my dolls. One it contemporary and the other is rococo inspired. It's a lot of work to do! Especially since I had to make mine portable. I did the magic really comes out in the details and lighting.

Good luck with your diorama! :)

    18. My doll characters live in a human-sized world, so at the most I've made representations of some of their "private space" spots in the house. A bed or futons, with a piece or two or three of doll furniture, and an assortment of personal items. (Did have an ongoing "common area" space setup for most PS's.)

And yet, I have a weakness for a good deal on a real doll bed. And have three - with bedding - that need to be assembled, once I find some spare horizontal storage areas for between shoots!
